  1. 16. Topological Methods for Motion Prediction and Caging

    Author : Joao Frederico Pinto Basto de Carvalho; Danica Kragic; Frank van der Stappen; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : To fulfill the requirements of automation in unstructured environmentsit will be necessary to endow robots with the ability to plan actions thatcan handle the dynamic nature of changing environments and are robust toperceptual errors. This thesis focuses on the design of algorithms to facilitatemotion planning in human environments and rigid object manipulation. READ MORE

  2. 17. Developing Data-Driven Models for Understanding Human Motion

    Author : Wenjie Yin; Mårten Björkman; Danica Kragic; Anders Heyden; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Datalogi; Computer Science;

    Abstract : Humans are the primary subjects of interest in the realm of computer vision. Specifically, perceiving, generating, and understanding human activities have long been a core pursuit of machine intelligence. READ MORE

  3. 18. Bio-inspired retinal optic flow perception in robotic navigation

    Author : Björnborg Nguyen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; robotic navigation; active fixation; visual perception; bionics; Retinal optic flow fields; gazing; optic flow; retinal flow path;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns the bio-inspired visual perception of motion with emphasis on locomotion targeting robotic systems. By continuously registering moving visual features in the human retina, a sensation of a visual flow cue is created. An interpretation of visual flow cues forms a low-level motion perception more known as retinal optic flow. READ MORE

  4. 19. Towards Immersive Motion Capture Acting : Design, Exploration and Development of an Augmented System Solution

    Author : Daniel Kade; Oguzhan Özcan; Morten Fjeld; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Current and future animations seek for realistic motions to create a perception of authentic and human-like animations. A technology widely used for such purposes is motion capture. Therefore, to create such human-like animations, motion capture actors enrich the movements of digital avatars with realistic and believable motions and emotions. READ MORE

  5. 20. Floor vibration : dynamic properties and subjective perception

    Author : Fredrik Ljunggren; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknisk akustik; Engineering Acoustics;

    Abstract : This thesis covers research in the floor vibration field. Although lightweight steel framed constructions have been in focus, many results are applicable to floors in common and to some extent also to vibrations in general. READ MORE
