    Abstract : Spinal neurons are important in several aspects motor control. For example, the neurons essential for locomotor movements reside in the ventral spinal cord. In this thesis, different motor control functions are being related to neuronal populations defined by their common expression of a gene. READ MORE

  2. 2. Biomechanical assessment of head and neck movements in neck pain using 3D movement analysis

    University dissertation from Umeå : Strålningsvetenskaper

    Author : Helena Grip; Umeå universitet.; [2008]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; movement analysis; kinematics; helical axis; neck pain; whiplash; cervical spine; pattern classification; motor control; head-eye co-ordination; head movement; biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap; Biomedical Radiation Science;

    Abstract : Three-dimensional movement analysis was used to evaluate head and neck movement in patients with neck pain and matched controls. The aims were to further develop biomechanical models of head and neck kinematics, to investigate differences between subjects with non-specific neck pain and whiplash associated disorders (WAD), and to evaluate the potential of objective movement analysis as a decision support during diagnosis and follow-up of patients with neck pain. 3. 3. Relationships between models used for teaching chemistry and those expressed by students

    University dissertation from Kalmar : Linnaeus university

    Author : Karina Adbo; Linnéuniversitetet.; [2012]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chemistry didactics; particulate nature of matter; phase transition; student expressed models; Swedish school; teaching models; Science Education; Naturvetenskap med utbildningsvetenskaplig inriktning; Science Education; Naturvetenskap med utbildningsvetenskaplig inriktning;

    Abstract : This thesis is focused upon chemistry as a school subject and students' interpretations and use of formally introduced teaching models. To explore students' developing repertoire of chemical models, a longitudinal interview study was undertaken spanning the first year of upper secondary school chemistry. READ MORE

  4. 4. Dressing wearing Movement directed by dress - dress directed by movement

    University dissertation from Borås : Högskolan i Borås

    Author : Ulrik Martin Larsen; Högskolan i Borås.; [2016]
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES;

    Abstract : Contemporary dance and modern ballet often focus on conveying emotions through patterns of movement which may be abstract, obvious, or anywhere in between, supported by music, sound, or spoken words that set the mood. Scenography is typically sparse or confined to the available space, leaving the dancers as the main instrument of communication. READ MORE

    Abstract : How does one improvise? How can one learn the art of improvisation? By consid - ering these two questions this thesis aspires to make a contribution towards a greater understanding of what the production of improvised music actually involves. The organ has long traditions as an instrument on which music is improvised, and this study aims to focus primarily on organ improvisation. READ MORE
