  1. 21. Velocity controlled dynamometry and gait analysis : development of methods and applications

    Author : Lennart Gransberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Dynamometry; torque; measurement error; overshoot; isokinetic; concentric; eccentric; gait analysis; three-dimensional; electrogoniometer; electromagnetic tracking;

    Abstract : The isokinetic systems developed in the present study can measure torque in maximal voluntary and passive movements. The torque recordings may be combined with surface EMG recordings from pairs of antagonistic muscles involved in the movement. Healthy subjects and patients with spastic paresis have been examined. 2. 22. Fat bloom on chocolate confectionery systems - From core to surface

    Author : Hanna Dahlenborg; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; surface structure; particles; migration; fat bloom; cocoa butter; chocolate;

    Abstract : Abstract Fat bloom on chocolate is a major problem for the confectionery industry since the unappetising appearance and negative sensory effects lead to rejection by customers. The presence of fat bloom on chocolate confectionery systems is usually connected to migration of liquid fat due to the difference in composition between filling triacylglycerols (TAGs) and cocoa butter TAGs. 3. 23. Superporous agarose a new material for chromatography

    Author : Per-Erik Gustavsson; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Protein separations; Chromatography; Superporous agarose; Continuous agarose beds; Intraparticle convection; Pore flow; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi; metabolism; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Abstract : Agarose, the most commonly employed chromatography base material in industrial purification processes for biomolecules – proteins, has almost ideal properties. The major disadvantage of the agarose support is its poor mechanical strength which excludes its use in high speed separations where small particles are needed in order to achieve improved chromatographic efficiency. 4. 24. Evaluation of computer-assisted virtual treatment planning and template-guided surgery in dental implant treatment

    Author : Ai Komiyama; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Dental implant; computer-guided surgery; surgical template; flapless surgery; immediate loading; CAD CAM technique; marginal bone loss; soft tissue condition; accuracy;

    Abstract : One of the newly introduced concepts in implant dentistry is computer-guided surgery. The development of 3D implant planning software and imaging technology provide clinicians with 3D information of patients bony structures. READ MORE

  5. 25. Pelvic fractures : epidemiology and treatment

    Author : Natalie Lundin; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The epidemiology of pelvic and acetabular fractures has been sparsely described and up-to date information on incidence, demographic distributions and treatment are lacking. Surgical treatment of pelvic and acetabular fractures is often considered for patients after high-energy trauma and/or in acetabular fractures with intraarticular incongruency. READ MORE
