  1. 11. Mathematical Modelling for Load Balancing and Minimization of Coordination Losses in Multirobot Stations

    Author : Edvin Åblad; Stiftelsen Fraunhofer-Chalmers Centrum för Industrimatematik (FCC); []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; decomposition; mathematical modelling; Voronoi diagram; set packing; automotive manufacturing; Smart Assembly 4.0; continuous collision detection; motion planning; vehicle routing; makespan minimization;

    Abstract : The automotive industry is moving from mass production towards an individualized production, in order to improve product quality and reduce costs and material waste. This thesis concerns aspects of load balancing of industrial robots in the automotive manufacturing industry, considering efficient algorithms required by an individualized production. READ MORE

  2. 12. Tracked vehicles : the influence of design parameters on the tractive performance in deep snow

    Author : Anders Bodin; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Maskinelement; Machine Elements;

    Abstract : To increase the mobility of tracked vehicles in deep snow with the payload capacity preserved and the maintenance costs kept low, improved design is required. To optimise new tracked vehicles intended to operate in deep snow, more knowledge about the vehicle design parameters that affect the tractive performance in deep snow is needed, especially regarding the design of the track assembly and of the vehicle belly. 4. 14. Bank-Industry Networks and Economic Evolution : An Institutional-Evolutionary Approach

    Author : Thomas Marmefelt; Jönköping University; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Schumpeterian bank-entrepreneur interaction; Bank-industry networks; Innovation; Economic evolution; Endogenous growth; Entropy; Financial institutions; Governance; Conventions; Institutional change; Network commitment; Spontaneous order; Collective action; Evolutionary game theory; Economic history;

    Abstract : The links between institutions and economic evolution, especially between financial institutions and industrial innovation, are poorly understood. Having Schumpeter´s theory of economic evolution as starting point, this study gives an outline of an institutional-evolutionary theory of institutional change, innovation, and financial systems, based on learning-by-financing within bank-industry networks. 5. 15. Searcing for economically sustainable Swedish suckle cow based beef production systems after decoupling of EU-income support

    Author : Pernilla Salevid; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : After decoupling of European Union income support, the current Swedish systems for suckle cow-based beef production will be unable to pay the costs of new investments and the market wage for labour. In a Delphi study, production systems able to achieve full cost coverage were identified as being "Organic with high environmental grants and a premium price for beef" and "Conventional with outdoor wintering of cows".
