  1. 21. Computational prediction of novel MAB phases

    Author : Adam Carlsson; Johanna Rosén; Denis Music; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The synthesis procedure of any materials system is often considered a challenging task if performed without any prior knowledge. Theoretical models may thus be used as an external input and guide experimental efforts toward novel exotic materials which are most likely to be synthesizable. READ MORE

  2. 22. Modelling and simulation of support systems to predict operational availability

    Author : Petter Kyösti; Martin Helgoson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Datorstödd maskinkonstruktion; Computer Aided Design;

    Abstract : The aim of the work presented in this thesis is the development of the tools that support industry in offering FPs as a viable business case. A support system modelling and simulation tool, such as the one demonstrated in this thesis, would improve the possibilities of developing the support system early, concurrently with the development of the hardware. 3. 23. Drift and Mirror Modes in Magnetized Plasmas

    Author : Ingmar Sandberg; Padma Shukla; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Astronomy; tokamak plasma; drift waves; space plasma; mirror instability.; Astronomi; Astronomy and astrophysics; Astronomi och astrofysik; Space and Plasma Physics; rymd- och plasmafysik;

    Abstract : Low frequency plasma instabilities driven by plasma inhomogeneity and velocity anisotropies are major candidates for the explanation of various phenomena observed in fusion and space plasmas. For low-β fusion plasma, the influence of plasma rotation and finite ion temperature on the structure and the type of toroidal drift eigenmodes in tokamaks is investigated rigorously, including the effects induced by the toroidal geometry such as the coupling mode, the radial variation of plasma rotation velocity and the magnetic shear. 4. 24. Catalytic Functionalization of Allylic Substrates by Palladium Pincer Complexes

    Author : Nicklas Selander; Kálmán Szabó; David Milstein; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Catalysis; Palladium; Pincer Complex; Boron; Multicomponent Reaction; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis is based on the development of novel catalytic reactions for the synthesis and application of organometallic reagents. The main focus is directed towards organoboronate derivatives. We developed an efficient procedure for converting allylic alcohols to the corresponding allylboronates using palladium pincer complexes as catalysts. READ MORE

  5. 25. Physics of materials in organic electronics

    Author : Carl Tengstedt; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The research included in this thesis is regarding materials physics in organic electronics. The thesis consists of two projects: one applied and one basic science in nature. The applied project concerns modification of charge injection properties in organic electronics. READ MORE
