  1. 11. Study of Mutual Coupling in Finite Antenna Arrays for Massive MIMO Applications

    Author : Tomislav Marinovic; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on the study of mutual coupling (MC) in finite antenna arrays for base station antennas (BSAs) for Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) applications, with an emphasis on the development of a computationally-efficient modeling technique for the analysis of MC which can be readily applied in the design or synthesis schemes for BSAs. Traditionally, the effects of MC have been ignored or underestimated in the analyses performed within the information-theoretic-based communities by assuming idealized antenna elements with no MC between them or by considering the fictitious isotropic radiator models. 2. 12. High Capacity Fiber-Connected Wireless MIMO Communication

    Author : Husileng Bao; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; central unit; Radio-over-Fiber; millimeter-wave.; multiple-inputmultiple- output; remote radio head;

    Abstract : There will be more and more users while beyond-5G (B5G) and 6G bring more wireless applications. Current cellular communication networks assign specific serving boundaries for each radio, which becomes a limitation when too many users work with one radio simultaneously. By physically distributing radios. user’s service can be more uniform. READ MORE

  3. 13. Power Control for Multi-Cell Massive MIMO

    Author : Amin Ghazanfari; Emil Björnson; Erik G. Larsson; Mikael Johansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The cellular network operators have witnessed significant growth in data traffic in the past few decades. This growth occurs due to the increases in the number of connected mobile devices, and further, the emerging mobile applications developed for rendering video-based on-demand services. READ MORE

  4. 14. Spatial Resource Allocation in Massive MIMO Communications : From Cellular to Cell-Free

    Author : Trinh Van Chien; Emil Björnson; Erik G. Larsson; David Gesbert; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Massive MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) is considered as an heir of the multi-user MIMO technology and it has gained lots of attention from both academia and industry since the last decade. By equipping base stations (BSs) with hundreds of antennas in a compact array or a distributed manner, this new technology can provide very large multiplexing gains by serving many users on the same time-frequency resources and thereby bring significant improvements in spectral efficiency (SE) and energy efficiency (EE) over the current wireless networks. 5. 15. Channel Estimation and Prediction for MIMO OFDM Systems : Key Design and Performance Aspects of Kalman-based Algorithms

    Author : Daniel Aronsson; Mikael Sternad; Ove Edfors; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : channel estimation; channel prediction; OFDM; Kalman filtering; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Signal Processing; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot signalbehandling;

    Abstract : Wireless broadband systems based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) are being introduced to meet demands for high data transfer rates. In multiple users systems, the available bandwidth has to be shared efficiently by several users. The radio channel quality will fluctuate, or fade, as users move. READ MORE
