1. Multicarrier modulation : duplexing design and interference/distortion mitigation
Abstract : Aspects of modern communication systems is the overall theme of this thesis with emphasis placed on multicarrier modulation. The work considers four facets of such systems; namely duplexing design, interference mitigation, channel estimation and multiuser detection. READ MORE

2. Multicarrier Faster-than-Nyquist Signaling Transceivers: From Theory to Practice
Abstract : The demand for spectrum resources in cellular systems worldwide has seen a tremendous escalation in the recent past. The mobile phones of today are capable of being cameras taking pictures and videos, able to browse the Internet, do video calling and much more than an yesteryear computer. READ MORE

3. Synchronization for Multicarrier Systems
Abstract : This thesis has synchronization of Multicarrier systems, more specifically Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems, as the main theme. The thesis addresses two areas, the first proposing and analyzing time and frequency estimators for OFDM systems, the second investigating more practical issues around these estimators. READ MORE

4. Multicarrier Modulation and Coding for Multichannel Systems
Abstract : In this thesis decision directed coherent detectors for single- and multicarriersystems employing an MMSE channel estimation technique is presented. Thedetectors are designed for Rayleigh fading channels and DQPSK or p/4-DQPSKmodulation and exploit knowledge of the fading process correlation. READ MORE

5. Multirate Codes and Multicarrier Modulation for Future Communication Systems
Abstract : In this thesis, new detection and modulation methods for multicarrier systems are presented. The proposed multicarrier detectors are based on feedback of previously detected symbols and the idea is to exploit the correlation, both in time between consecutive symbols, and in frequency between neighboring sub-carriers.
