  1. 1. Multiple categorization in hiring : The stereotype content model perspective

    Author : Andrea Strinić; Jens Agerström; Magnus Carlsson; Eva Derous; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; warmth; competence; stereotype content model; multiple group membership; intersectionality; hiring; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Abstract : Hiring discrimination research has predominantly focused on labor market outcomes based on one or two group memberships, most commonly ethnicity and gender. The main aim of the doctoral dissertation is to explore warmth and competence perceptions associated with multiple demographic group membership and how they may affect evaluations and behavior in a workplace and hiring context. 2. 2. Oxidative Dissolution of Spent Fuel and Release of Nuclides from a Copper/Iron Canister : Model Developments and Applications

    Author : Longcheng Liu; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; model; oxidative dissolution; spent fuel; radiolysis; release; mass transport; radionuclide; hydrogen; corrosion; canister; near field; repository; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Three models have been developed and applied in the performance assessment of a final repository. They are based on accepted theories and experimental results for known and possible mechanisms that may dominate in the oxidative dissolution of spent fuel and the release of nuclides from a canister. 3. 3. Stochastic model updating and model selection with application to structural dynamics

    Author : Majid Khorsand Vakilzadeh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Finite element model; Bayesian model selection; Bayesian model updating; stochastic simulation; Bootstrapping; Subspace system identification; Uncertainty quantification;

    Abstract : Uncertainty induced by our incomplete state of knowledge about engineering systems and their surrounding environment give rise to challenging problems in the process of building predictive models for the system behavior. One such challenge is the model selection problem, which arises due to the existence of invariably multiple candidate models with different mathematical forms to represent the system behavior, and so there is a need to assess their plausibility based on experimental data. 4. 4. On Non-Prioritized Multiple Belief Revision

    Author : Li Zhang; Sven Ove Hansson; John Cantwell; Tor Sandqvist; André Fuhrmann; KTH; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Non-prioritized multiple revision; Making up one s mind; Choice revision; Descriptor revision; AGM; Believability relation; Multiple believability relation; Belief base; Partial expansion; Multiple contraction; Filosofi; Philosophy; Mathematics; Matematik; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates a sort of non-prioritized multiple revision, the operation of making up one's mind, and its generalization, the operation of choice revision. Making up one's mind about a sentence is a belief change that takes the agent to a belief state in which either the sentence or its negation is believed. READ MORE

  5. 5. Model and tool integration in high level design of embedded systems

    Author : Jianlin Shi; Martin Törngren; Johan Lilius; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Model integration; Model transformation; Tool integration; Model based development; Embedded Systems; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Abstract : The development of advanced embedded systems requires a systematic approach as well as advanced tool support in dealing with their increasing complexity. This complexity is due to the increasing functionality that is implemented in embedded systems and stringent (and conflicting) requirements placed upon such systems from various stakeholders.
