21. Laser Remote Sensing for Environmental Monitoring
Abstract : This thesis studies the techniques of laser remote sensing and their applications in environmental monitoring, as documented in several published papers. The environment where the human being live is degrading with an accelerating speed. READ MORE

22. Congenital muscular torticollis
Abstract : Aim: The purpose of these studies was to undertake a survey of functional and cosmetic status in children treated for congenital muscular torticollis (CMT), to examine validity and reliability of the Muscle Function Scale (MFS), to find reference values for rotation and lateral flexion of the neck and muscle function of the lateral flexors in the neck for the normally developing infant, to investigate if infants with CMT are at higher risk of achieving the early motor milestones later compared to a control group of healthy infants and to investigate if treatment duration is affected when stretching is carried out by an experienced physiotherapist compared to parents. Methods: Range of motion (ROM) in neck rotation was measured with an arthrodial protractor. READ MORE

23. GH Secretion in children. Methodological aspects of determining immunoreactive and bioactive isoforms
Abstract : A child's hormone-dependent growth is dependent on multiple factors, although linear growth is closely associated with levels of growth hormone (GH) secretion. As GH in serum exists in several isoforms, some of which may not be identified by immunoassay, possible alterations in the secretion of these different isoforms in childhood may influence growth and/or metabolism. 24. Integration of silicide nanowires as Schottky barrier source/drain in FinFETs
Abstract : The steady and aggressive downscaling of the physical dimensions of the conventional metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect-transistor (MOSFET) has been the main driving force for the IC industry and information technology over the past decades. As the device dimensions approach the fundamental limits, novel double/trigate device architecture such as FinFET is needed to guarantee the ultimate downscaling. READ MORE

25. Hidradenitis suppurativa : with special reference to carbon dioxide laser surgery
Abstract : Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory disease with recurrent abscesses. In most cases, it involves the axillar and anogenital regions. In industrialised countries, the prevalence is of 0.3% to 4%, and the disease is over-represented in young adult females. READ MORE
