    Abstract : The work reported here relates to a class of reconstructions on the Si(111) surface with 3?1 or 6?1 periodicity that are believed to be similar for Ag, Mg and the alkali metals (Li, K, and Na). The electronic structure of this reconstruction was studied by means of angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy of the valence bands of the Ag/Si(111)-3?1/6?1 reconstruction. READ MORE
