Abstract : Buprenorphine, a derivative of thebaine, is a semi-synthetic opiate and a partial p-opioid receptor agonist. Buprenorphine is also a weak kappa-opioid receptor antagonist. Abstract : This thesis describes experiments investigating the influence of the brain on cardiovascular adaptations to haemorrhage and excess sodium in conscious chronically prepared sheep.
