    Author : Ivan Shorubalko; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; III-V semiconductors; low-dimensional structures; nanostructures; ballistic rectifiers; three-terminal ballistic junctions; quantum wires; planar quantum dots; logic gates; harmonic generation; InP; GaInAs; nanoelectronics; Fysik; Physics; nonlinear transport; electron transport; quantum nanodevices; ballistic nanodevices; Fysicumarkivet A:2003:Shorubalko;

    Abstract : In this thesis, electron transport in quantum and ballistic devices was studied. The devices studied here were quantum wires, planar quantum dots, ballistic rectifiers, artificial functional materials, and three-terminal ballistic junctions. The possible application of such devices in the future nanoelectronics was also investigated. READ MORE

  4. 4. Electron and Spin Transport in Graphene-Based Nanodevices

    Author : Xiao-Fei LI; Yi Luo; Rajeev Ahuja; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SRA - Transport; SRA - Transport;

    Abstract : This thesis is devoted to the multi-scale modeling of electron and spin transport in graphene-based nanodevices. Several devices with fascinating structures and attractive properties have been designed by means of state-of-the-art computational methods, which include ab-initio molecular dynamics (MD) simulations for the geometry, density functional theory (DFT) for the electronic structure, and non-equilibrium Green’s functions (NEGF) for carriers transport properties. 5. 5. Integration and Fabrication Techniques for 3D Micro- and Nanodevices

    Author : Andreas C. Fischer; Frank Niklaus; Karl F. Böhringer; KTH; []
    Keywords : Microelectromechanical systems; MEMS; Nanoelectromechanical systems; NEMS; silicon; wafer-level; chip-level; through silicon via; TSV; packaging; 3D packaging; vacuum packaging; liquid encapsulation; integration; heterogeneous integration; wafer bonding; microactuators; shape memory alloy; SMA; wire bonding; magnetic assembly; self-assembly; 3D; 3D printing; focused ion beam; FIB;

    Abstract : The development of micro and nano-electromechanical systems (MEMS and NEMS) with entirely new or improved functionalities is typically based on novel or improved designs, materials and fabrication methods. However, today’s micro- and nano-fabrication is restrained by manufacturing paradigms that have been established by the integrated circuit (IC) industry over the past few decades. READ MORE
