1. Pulmonary Drug Absorption : In vitro and in vivo investigations of drug absorption across the lung barrier and its relation to drug physicochemical properties
Abstract : Although, pulmonary drug delivery is a well established means for targeting of drugs to the lungs for the treatment of respiratory diseases as well as for the systemic delivery of volatile anesthetic agents, drug absorption kinetics in the lung have not been subjected to extensive research. The main objective of this thesis was to investigate drug absorption characteristics of the lung barrier, using the isolated and perfused rat lung model and in vivo pharmacokinetic studies in rats. 2. Applications of nanospray desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry : In situ lipid and metabolite analysis from cells to tissue
Abstract : Ambient mass spectrometry (MS) has proved to be an important addition to the bioanalytical toolbox. These methods perform analyte sampling and ionization under atmospheric pressure, and require very little sample preparation other than the sampling process in front of the machine. READ MORE

3. Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry for Speciation Analysis : Development and Applications
Abstract : In analytical chemistry the main goal is normally to determine the identity and/or concentration of one or more species in a sample. The samples analyzed are often natural samples, containing numerous different species in a complex matrix and the choice of technique for multi-elemental detection is in general inductively coupled plasma spectrometry. 4. Novel detection schemes and high resolution separations in microcolumn liquid separations
Abstract : Three micro detectors were developed and studied using micro-liquidchromatography (micro-LC). An evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD) nebulizer was developed for use with flow rates ranging from 0.5 to 10 µL/min. READ MORE

5. Treatment of Pseudomonas aeruginosa using immunoglobulin Y : A porcine experimental model of ventilator-associated pneumonia and septic shock caused by P. aeruginosa
Abstract : Background: Ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a common cause of morbidity and mortality in patients treated in the intensive care unit. The spread of pathogens with anti-microbial resistance mandates the investigation of novel therapeutic strategies. We hypothesized that specific polyclonal anti-P. READ MORE
