  1. 1. ICU prognostication: Time to re-evaluate? Register-based studies on improving prognostication for patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU)

    Author : Peder Andersson; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Intensive Care; Critical Care; Mortality; Cerebral Performance Category; Cardiac arrest; Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest; Sepsis; Lactate; Troponin; Neuron-specific enolase; Neurofilament light; Age; Elderly; Prognostication; Prediction; Scoring system; Neural net; Artificial neural network; Deep learning; Artificial intelligence;

    Abstract : Background: ICU prognostication is difficult because of patients’ prior comorbidities and their varied reasons for admission. The model used for ICU prognostication in Sweden is the Simplified Acute Physiology Score 3 (SAPS 3), which uses information gathered within one hour of ICU admission to predict 30-day mortality. 2. 2. High-Performance Network-on-Chip Design for Many-Core Processors

    Author : Boqian Wang; Zhonghai Lu; Kun-Chih Chen; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Network-on-Chip; Chip Multi Many-core Processors; Multiprocessor System-on-Chip; High-Performance Computing; Cache Coherence; Virtual Channel Reservation; Admission Control; Artificial Neural Network; AXI4; Quality of Service; Network-on-Chip; Chip Multi Many-core Processors; Multiprocessor Sys-tem on a Chip; High-Performance Computing; Cache Coherence; Virtual Channel Reser-vation; Admission Control; Artificial Neural Network; AXI4; Quality of Servic; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Abstract : With the development of on-chip manufacturing technologies and the requirements of high-performance computing, the core count is growing quickly in Chip Multi/Many-core Processors (CMPs) and Multiprocessor System-on-Chip (MPSoC) to support larger scale parallel execution. Network-on-Chip (NoC) has become the de facto solution for CMPs and MPSoCs in addressing the communication challenge. READ MORE

  3. 3. Performance Indicators. A performance prediction method for moisture safety design

    Author : Veronica Yverås; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Artificial Neural Network; Performance prediction; Moisture safety;

    Abstract : The aims of this research project is to develop and gain knowledge about a different approach to moisture safety design based on AI in order to attain healthy buildings and relate this new approach to current practice and prospective users. Secondary data (data produced for some other purpose) was used to train Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to predict the performance of outdoor ventilated crawl-spaces regarding microbiological smell, mould and rot. 4. 4. Cardiac Troponins in Patients with Suspected or Confirmed Acute Coronary Syndrome : New Applications for Biomarkers in Coronary Artery Disease

    Author : Kai Eggers; Bertil Lindahl; Stefan James; Paul Collinson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Internal medicine; Ischemic heart disease; Acute myocardial infarction; Troponin; Natriuretic peptide; CRP; Cystatin C; Artificial neural network; Point of care measurements; Risk prediction; Invärtesmedicin;

    Abstract : The cardiac troponins are the biochemical markers of choice for the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and risk prediction in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). In this thesis, the role of early serial cardiac troponin I (cTnI) testing was assessed in fairly unselected patient populations admitted because of chest pain and participating in the FAST II-study (n=197) and the FASTER I-study (n=380).
