  1. 16. Cerebellar pathways and mechanisms in classical conditioning

    Author : Pär Svensson; Neurofysiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurology; Climbing Fibers; Conditioned Response; Mossy Fibers; Ferret; Eyeblink; Cerebellum; Classical Conditioning; neuropsychology; neurophysiology; Neurologi; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Abstract : It has been suggested that the cerebellar mossy fibre afferents transmit the conditioned stimulus (CS) information to the cerebellum. Several studies are consistent with this suggestion but alternative explanations have not been excluded. READ MORE

  2. 17. NO PAIN, STILL GAIN- cross-modality development learning guided by spinal spontaneous activity

    Author : Alexandra Waldenström Ellervik; Neurofysiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi; Neurologi; Neurology; neuropsychology; development; spinal cord; activity-dependent learning and memory; pain; somatosensory; neurophysiology;

    Abstract : Recent studies indicate that experience dependent mechanisms shape the pain system during the development. In view of that painful stimuli are rare during development it is not clear how this is accomplished. READ MORE

  3. 18. Towards Better Understanding of Etiological Mechanisms at the Neuromuscular Junction

    Author : Evgenii Bogatikov; Anna Rostedt Punga; Klas Kullander; Viktorija Kenina; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neuromuscular junction; Muscle cells; Microelectrode array; MicroRNA; Clinical Neurophysiology; Klinisk neurofysiologi; Biomedical Laboratory Science; Biomedicinsk laboratorievetenskap;

    Abstract : The neuromuscular junction (NMJ) serves as a model for understanding the mechanisms that determine communication between neurons and their target cells. Disorders of the NMJ can be either autoimmune or genetic (hereditary). READ MORE

  4. 19. Stroke in geriatric patients - Aspects of depression, cognition and motor activity

    Author : Berit Agrell; Geriatrik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; stroke; laterality; rating scales; motoractivity; aphasia; neglect; disability; depression; cognition; Neurology; neuropsychology; neurophysiology; Neurologi; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Abstract : Six depression rating scales, GDS, Zung, CES-D, CPRS-D and Cornell, were compared in 40 patients. The validity was good for all scales except for the Cornell scale. A comprehensive investigation was done in 116 elderly stroke patients. There was no difference in prevalence and severity of post-stroke depression in relation to side of lesion. READ MORE

  5. 20. Aspects of proteinase-activated receptor-2: A sensor of enzymatic activity at the cell surface

    Author : Anna-Karin Alm; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neuropsychology; Neurology; endometrium.; coagulation; signalling; proteinase; G-protein; cell; receptor; neurophysiology; Neurologi; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Abstract : Information about extracellular proteolytic activity is transduced to the cell by a transmembrane G-protein coupled receptor subfamily. These receptors are activated by proteolytic cleavage in the extracellular amino-terminal domain and are thus termed proteinase-activated receptors (PARs). READ MORE
