  2. 2. Noble Metal Catalysed Reductions and Rearrangements

    Author : Alban Cadu; Joseph Samec; Anne Fiksdahl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry with specialization in Organic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot organisk kemi;

    Abstract : The focus of this thesis has been organometallic catalysis applied to compounds containing heteroatoms which are usually poisonous to metal catalysts, by channelling their innate reactivity advantageously. The studies described in this thesis concentrate, in the first part, on iridium catalysed asymmetric hydrogenation (papers I and II) and in the second part, on gold catalysed internal rearrangements (papers III and IV). Abstract : .... READ MORE

  4. 4. Microstructural Changes in Deactivated Noble Metal Catalysts

    Author : Bertil Stenbom; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The structural deactivation of supported noble metal catalysts has been investigated for treatments at different temperatures and in different atmospheres. The sintering rates of Pt/Al2O3, Rh/Al2O3, and Pt-Rh/Al2O3 catalysts were measured using temperature-programmed desorption of CO (CO-TPD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). READ MORE

  5. 5. Molecular and cellular interactions on noble metal nanopatterned surfaces − applications towards bone, soft tissue and infection control

    Author : Sara Svensson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; nanotopography; noble metals; titanium; biocompatibility; osseointegration; inflammation; host defence; monocytes; infection control; antimicrobial; staphylococci;

    Abstract : Biomaterial-associated infection is recognised as one of the main risks for failure of medical devices. The presence of a foreign material in tissues has been suggested to compromise the ability of host cells to eradicate infection. READ MORE
