16. Phase Behavior and Solution Properties of Aqueous Polyion-Surfactant Ion Systems
Abstract : Polyelectrolytes and oppositely charged surfactants interact through attractive electrostatic forces, which in many cases lead to phase separation already at low total concentrations. During the past 10-15 years investigations of these systems have been simplified through the use of complex salts that consist of surfactants with polymeric counterions in a 1:1 charge stoichiometry (no excess simple counterions present). 17. Structure-Property Relationships of Surfactants at Interfaces and Polyelectrolyte-Surfactant Aggregates
Abstract : The first part of this thesis is concerned with thestructure-property relationships in nonionic surfactantsystems. The main aim was to investigate how the surfactantstructure influences the adsorption at interfaces andinteractions between surfactant coated interfaces. READ MORE

18. Surface Chemistry Studies on Surfactant Properties Relevant to Flotation De-inkin
Abstract : The objective of this work was to investigate thephysico-chemical properties of common de-inking chemicals. Thishas been done by means of equilibrium and dynamic surfacetension measurements as well as foaming experiments. READ MORE

19. Development of new nanomaterials syntheses for mesostructured TiO2 and SiO2
Abstract : Mesostructured materials is a class of materials within the concept nanomaterials andcharacterized by structural features on the length scale 2-50 nm. This group of materials isinteresting for several applications such as, membrane and separation technology, heterogeneouscatalysis, controlled release, adsorption of pollutants, solar energy conversion, electrode materialsetc. READ MORE

20. Polymer effects on microemulsions and lamellar phases
Abstract : The main part of this thesis deals with the effects of adsorbing and non-adsorbing polymers when mixed with microemulsion droplets and bilayers in a lamellar phase. The phase behaviour, microstructure and interactions in a nonionic surfactant/ water/ oil-system, comprising penta ethylene oxide dodecyl ether (C12E5) and decane, was investigated. READ MORE
