16. Acoustical Measurements of Material Nonlinearity and Nonequilibrium Recovery
Abstract : A damaged material or a material with non perfect atomic geometry, dislocations or cracks, exhibits two types of characteristic responses to acoustic excitations. First is the fast nonlinear dynamics response that is present as long as the material is excited. As soon as the excitation stops the response disappear. READ MORE

17. Measurement Techniques for Characterization of Power Amplifiers
Abstract : In this thesis a sampling time domain measurement system primarily intended for measurements on radio frequency power amplifiers is discussed. The need for such a measurement system is established. Impairments due to non-ideal measurement instruments are discussed as well as methods to compensate for these impairments. READ MORE

18. Nonlinear Filtering Methods in Road Geometry Estimation
Abstract : Advanced driver assistance systems require information about the traffic scene of which the road geometry is an important part. In this thesis we use nonlinear filtering methods to estimate the shape of the road ahead of a host vehicle by fusing measurements of lane markings obtained from a camera and measurements of moving vehicles and barriers obtained from a radar-camera fusion system. 19. Time Domain Methods for Load Identification of Linear and Nonlinear Systems
Abstract : The automotive industry faces an increasing demand for virtual prototyping to simulate the operation conditions of vehicles and subsystems. Each component, as well as the complete vehicle, must meet the desired design requirements in a time- and cost-efficient development process. READ MORE

20. Fatigue Assessment of Container Ships – a Contribution to Direct Calculation Procedures
Abstract : Within the field of marine structural engineering, the introduction of new materials and material classes, the development of production techniques and new design, and new requirements imposed by authorities are examples which justify a need for continuous revisit and update of fatigue assessment methodologies of marine structures. This thesis contributes to the development and improvement of fatigue assessment methodology for ship structures. READ MORE
