  1. 1. Radiolabeled acetate PET in oncology imaging studies on head and neck cancer, prostate cancer and normal distribution

    University dissertation from Umeå : Umeå university

    Author : Aijun Sun; Umeå universitet.; [2010]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; 11C-acetate; 18F-fluoroacetate; PET; head and neck cancer; staging; delineating tumor volume; clearance rate; perfusion; RT; treatment outcome; benign and malignant lymph node; prostate cancer; normal distribution; MEDICINE Surgery Oncology; MEDICIN Kirurgi Onkologi; onkologi; Oncology;

    Abstract : The use of positron emission tomography (PET) for imaging in oncology has grown rapidly in recent years. 2-[18F]-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) is the most common tracer of PET, although drawbacks exist. READ MORE

  2. 2. Small-Scale Absorbed Dose Modelling in Selective Internal Radiation Therapy Microsphere Distribution in Normal Liver Tissue

    University dissertation from Göteborg : University of Gothenburg

    Author : Jonas Högberg; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2015]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; clusters; dosimetry; heterogeneity; liver; microspheres; radioembolisation; simulations; SIRT; surgery; yttrium-90;

    Abstract : Radioembolisation (RE), with yttrium-90 (90Y) labelled microspheres, is an increasingly common treatment method for unresectable liver tumours. The tolerable mean absorbed dose for normal liver (NL) tissue is higher in RE than in External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT); absorbed dose heterogeneity is thought to be one important reason, together with a low absorbed dose rate, but the knowledge of microsphere distributions is limited. 4. 4. On the asymptotic spectral distribution of random matrices closed form solutions using free independence

    University dissertation from Linköping : Department of Mathematics, Linköping University

    Author : Jolanta Maria Pielaszkiewicz; Dietrich von Rosen; Martin Singull; Maciej A. Nowak; [2013]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Spectral distribution; R-transform; Stieltjes transform; Free probability; Freeness; Asymptotic freeness;

    Abstract : The spectral distribution function of random matrices is an information-carrying object widely studied within Random matrix theory. In this thesis we combine the results of the theory together with the idea of free independence introduced by Voiculescu (1985). READ MORE
