  1. 1. Development of 18F- and 68Ga-Labelled Tracers Design Perspectives and the Search for Faster Synthesis

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Elisabeth Blom; Uppsala universitet.; [2009]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PET; nucleophilic 18F-fluorination; perfluoro; F-SPE; molecular design; 68Ga; chelators; DOTA; NOTA; microwave; halogen exchange; harmine; biotin; RGD; VEGF; CRP; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi; Organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the design of 18F- and 68Ga-labelled positron emission tomography (PET) tracers and the development of technologies that enable faster and simpler preparation with high specific radioactivity. Techniques like microwave heating and reducing the concentrations of the precursor were investigated with this perspective. READ MORE

  2. 2. Site-specific labeling of affinity molecules for in vitro and in vivo studies

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Anna Perols; KTH.; [2014]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Affibody molecules; molecular imaging; site-specific labeling; solid phase peptide synthesis; IgG-binding domains; photoconjugation.; Bioteknologi; Biotechnology;

    Abstract : The thesis is focused on site-specific labeling of affinity molecules for different applications where two types of binding proteins, Affibody molecules and antibodies, have been used. For the purpose of improving the properties of Affibody molecules for in vivo imaging, novel bi-functional chelators for radiolabeling using the radionuclide 111In were evaluated. READ MORE

  3. 3. Bombesin Antagonists for Targeting Gastrin-Releasing Peptide Receptor-Positive Tumors Design, Synthesis, Preclinical Evaluation and Optimization of Imaging Agents

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Zohreh Varasteh; Uppsala universitet.; [2014]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Bombesin; Gastrin-releasing peptide receptor GRPR ; Antagonist; Radionuclide molecular imaging;

    Abstract : This thesis is focused on the development, preclinical evaluation, and optimization of radiotracers for the detection of gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR)-expressing tumors. The work is divided into three distinct parts: (1) the development of bombesin (BN) antagonist (RM26)-based imaging radiotracers for the detection of GRPR-expressing tumors using different positron emission tomography (PET) and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) radionuclides (68Ga, 18F and 111In), (2) the establishment of a method to monitor the ligand-G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) interaction in real time without requiring purification and stabilization of the receptors, and (3) the evaluation of radiopeptide structure-related factors (length of mini-PEG linker and composition of chelator for metal labeling) affecting the in vitro and in vivo characteristics of RM26-based tracers. 4. 4. Theranostics in radiology : development of targeted contrast media with treatment capability

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, false

    Author : Åsa Barrefelt; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2014]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Imaging is essential in the diagnostics and medicine of today. The development of new contrast agents is important for obtaining specific information from images and to distinguish disease. Microbubbles (MB) have previously been introduced as a contrast agent for ultrasound. READ MORE

  5. 5. Affibody Molecules for HER3-targeted Theranostics of Malignant Tumours

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Maria Rosestedt; Uppsala universitet.; [2018]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; affibody molecules; theranostics; HER3; molecular imaging;

    Abstract : The HER3 receptor plays a strong role in disease progression and resistance to therapies in several cancer types. Due to its endogenous expression and low overexpression in malignant tumours, it is a particularly challenging target. READ MORE
