1. Hydrodynamics of Binary Bose-Einstein Condensates and Hydro-elasticity of the Inner Crust of Neutron Stars
Abstract : In the present thesis, “Hydrodynamics of Binary Bose-Einstein Condensates and Hydro-elasticity of the Inner Crust of Neutron Stars”, the hydrodynamic effects, instabilities and superfluid turbulence in binary immiscible ultracold gases, and hydro-elastic macroscopic coupled modes and microscopic structure of the inner layers of the crust of neutron stars, are studied. The ultracold gas dynamics can be realized in the laboratory. READ MORE

2. Studies of PWO Crystals and Simulations of the p̅p →Λ̅Λ, Λ̅Σ0 Reactions for the PANDA Experiment
Abstract : The thesis comprises investigations of two topics related to the PANDA experiment. The first part is dedicated to energy resolution and light yield uniformity studies of PWO crystals for the electromagnetic calorimeter. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to simulation studies of the p̅p→Λ̅Λ and the p̅p→Λ̅Σ0 channels. READ MORE

3. Development of theoretical approaches for post-silicon information processing
Abstract : Despite knowing the fundamental equations in most of the physics research areas, still there is an unceasing need for theoretical method development, thanks to the more and more challenging problems addressed by the research community. The investigation of post-silicon, non-classical information processing is one of the new and rapidly developing areas that requires tremendous amount of theoretical support, new understanding, and accurate theoretical predictions. 4. Studies of Accelerator-Driven Systems for Transmutation of Nuclear Waste
Abstract : Accelerator-driven systems for transmutation of nuclear waste have been suggested as a means for dealing with spent fuel components that pose potential radiological hazard for long periods of time. While not entirely removing the need for underground waste repositories, this nuclear waste incineration technology provides a viable method for reducing both waste volumes and storage times. 5. Segmented HPGe detectors for post-irradiation examination of nuclear fuel : Design and demonstration in gamma emission tomography
Abstract : Gamma emission tomography (GET) is a proven non-invasive technique for post-irradiation examination of nuclear fuel. In the past, collimated HPGe detectors were used for GET measurements due to their good energy resolution. READ MORE
