1. Factors Influencing Drivers' Speeding Behaviour
Abstract : Every year many people all over the world are killed and severely injured in road traffic accidents. Even though driving too fast is a behaviour well known to contribute to both the number and the outcome of these accidents, drivers are still speeding. READ MORE

2. Speed Choice : The Driver, the Road and Speed Limits
Abstract : Speed choice is one of the more characteristic features of driver behaviour. The speed a driver chooses to travel at determines the degree of difficulty he or she operates under. Higher speeds lead to more accidents, higher accident risk and more severe consequences of an accident. READ MORE

3. Interpreting budget deficits and productivity fluctuations
Abstract : This thesis includes four self-contained essays on budget deficits and productivity fluctuations:ESSAY I evaluates the effects of budget deficits on several key macroeconomic variables of the Swedish economy by estimating a vector autoregression model. The main finding is that - apart from a positive transitory real interest rate effect associated with a shock in the deficit - neither actual nor unexpected movements in deficits have any significant explanatory power for the determination of real non-fiscal variables. 4. Time and inequality - A study of individual preferences
Abstract : This thesis consists of three papers that study individual preferences. The focus of the first two papers is on time preferences. In the third paper, preferences regarding how inequality in health and income should be defined are elicited. READ MORE

5. Multi-Photon Interactions with a Time Structure
Abstract : The present thesis concerns aspects of the interaction ofmatter in gas, liquid and solid phases, with electromagneticradiation, ranging from the optical to the X-ray region. Overthe last decade the availability of ultrashort strong laserpulses as well as of high power synchrotron sources of tunableX-ray radiation has stimulated a rapid development of newexperimental techniques which makes it possible to analysedifferent physical, chemical and biological processes inunprecedented detail.
