  1. 1. A Systematic Approach to Integrated Building Performance Assessment and Visualisation

    Author : Samer Hassanie; Ivo Martinac; Holger Wallbaum; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermal comfort; energy consumption; building certifications; occupancy; modeling; presence; pattern recognition; Demand controlled ventilation; Indoor thermal environment; Occupancy; Time response; Energy use; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Abstract : The aim of this project was to develop a holistic approach to building-performance assessment without limiting it to energy use (usually expressed in kWh/m2/year), but rather include more parameters that represent the following aspects: Economic, environmental, and quality of service provided to the occupant/client. If it can be shown that buildings can be operated not only in an energy-efficient way, but also in a way that takes into consideration the needs of the occupants, a case could be built that a higher quality of indoor environment does not necessarily mean a higher economic impact. 2. 2. Prediction of Energy Use of a Swedish Secondary School Building : Building Energy Simulation, Validation, Occupancy Behaviour and Potential Energy-Efficiency Measures

    Author : Jessika Steen Englund; Bahram Moshfegh; Mathias Cehlin; Jan Akander; Tomas Persson; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; building energy simulation; school building; field measurements; energy use; heat power demand; validation; occupancy behaviour; airing; energy-efficiency measures; byggnadssimulering; skolbyggnad; fältmätningar; energianvändning; värmeeffektbehov; validering; brukarbeteende; vädring; energieffektiviseringsåtgärder; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development;

    Abstract : Residential and public buildings account for about 40% of the annual energy use in Europe. Many buildings are in urgent need of renovation, and reductions in energy demand in the built environment are of high importance in both Europe and Sweden. Building energy simulation (BES) tools are often used to predict building performance. READ MORE

  3. 3. Nonlinear Mixed Effects Methods for Improved Estimation of Receptor Occupancy in PET Studies

    Author : Matts Kågedal; Mats Karlsson; Andrew C Hooker; Gitte Knudsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PET; positron emission tomography; receptor occupancy; nonlinear mixed effects; NONMEM; optimal design; dose finding; Pharmacokinetics and Drug Therapy; Farmakokinetik och läkemedelsterapi;

    Abstract : Receptor occupancy assessed by Positron Emission Tomography (PET) can provide important translational information to help bridge information from one drug to another or from animal to man. The aim of this thesis was to develop nonlinear mixed effects methods for estimation of the relationship between drug exposure and receptor occupancy for the two mGluR5 antagonists AZD9272 and AZD2066 and for the 5HT1B receptor antagonist AZD3783.
