  1. 1. Robust Platforms for Superconductivity : Disorder Robustness and Topological Density of States Peaks

    Author : Tomas Löthman; Annica M. Black-Schaffer; Carsten Honerkamp; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Superconductivity; Odd-Frequency Superconductivity; Nematic superconductivity; Topological Phases of Matter; Flat bands; Van Hove Singularity; Graphene; Twisted Bilayer Graphene; Rhombohedral graphite; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Abstract : We explore the connection between robust material platforms for superconductivity and the modern condensed matter physics paradigms of two-dimensional materials, topological states of matter, and odd-frequency superconductivity. Specifically, the recent discoveries of gapless topological matter and truly two-dimensional materials with graphene have greatly expanded the class of materials for which topology produces large, robust, even singular, density of states (DOS) peaks in the electronic structure that in turn are highly susceptible to new ordered states of matter, including superconductivity. 2. 2. Topological superconductivity in multiorbital materials

    Author : Johann Schmidt; Annica M. Black-Schaffer; Karyn Le Hur; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Superconductivity; Kitaev materials; Odd-frequency superconductivity; Topological superconductivity; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Multiorbital materials add a new intricacy to the already complex phenomenon of superconductivity. The additional orbital degree of freedom requires leaving behind the established band picture, but also opens the possibility of more complicated order parameters with new properties. READ MORE

  3. 3. Selfconsistent theory of superconductivity in unconventional superconductors

    Author : Fabian Schrodi; Peter M. Oppeneer; Alex Aperis; Jörg Schmalian; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; superconductivity; unconventional; Eliashberg theory;

    Abstract : Superconductivity is broadly believed to stem from either electron-phonon interaction (EPI) or from purely electronic mechanisms, such as antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations. For many materials the discussion about which of these interactions is the dominant "pairing glue" is still ongoing. READ MORE

  4. 4. Topological band theory and Majorana fermions : With focus on self-consistent lattice models

    Author : Kristofer Björnson; Annica M. Black-Schaffer; Jonas Fransson; Olle Eriksson; Andrei Bernevig; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Topology; Majorana; superconductivity; material physics; numerical calculations; tight-binding; mean-field;

    Abstract : One of the most central concepts in condensed matter physics is the electronic band structure. Although band theory was established more than 80 years ago, recent developments have led to new insights that are formulated in the framework of topological band theory. READ MORE

  5. 5. Transport Properties of Superconducting d-wave junctions

    Author : Tomas Löfwander; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : At surfaces and interfaces of d-wave superconductors, quasiparticle bound states with zero energy, midgap states (MGS), are necessarily formed as a consequence of the sign change of the d-wave order parameter upon 90° rotation. The MGS can never exist at s-wave superconductor surfaces and are therefore true fingerprints of unconventional superconductivity. READ MORE
