1. Radiative lifetimes of bound excited states in anions : Measurements on long-lived metastable states in atomic anions
Abstract : This thesis presents and discusses the results of measurements of the intrinsic lifetimes of bound excited anionic states. The results are valuable for evaluation of different theoretical models and computation methods and are compared to calculations when available. READ MORE

2. Experimental Nuclear Structure Studies in the Vicinityof the N = Z Nucleus 100Sn and in the ExtremelyNeutron Deficient 162Ta Nucleus
Abstract : This work covers spectroscopic studies of nuclei from different regions of the Segré chart whose properties illustrate the delicate balance between the forces in the atomic nucleus. Studies of nuclei far from stability offer new insights into the complex nucleon many-body problem. READ MORE

3. Multistep Shell Model in the Complex Energy Plane
Abstract : In this thesis the properties of unbound nuclei like 12,13Li are studiedby extending the multistep shell model to the complex energy plane. Thenuclei 12Li and 13Li are described starting from the one-particle states in 10Liand two-particle states in 11Li. The ground state of 12Li is found to be anantibound state. READ MORE

4. Anomaly and Topology : On the axial anomaly, domain wall dynamics, and local topological markers in quantum matter
Abstract : Chiral anomalies and topological phases of matter form the basis of the research presented in this dissertation. The chiral anomaly is considered both in the context of magnetic Weyl semimetals and in the context of non-Hermitian Dirac actions. READ MORE

5. Simulation of Core-Level Spectra of H-bonded Systems
Abstract : The thesis consists of three related projects where attempts have been made to simulate X-Ray Absorption (XAS) spectra of water and hexagonal ice, static non-resonant X-ray Emission (XES) spectrum of water and to apply the semi-classical approximation to Kramers-Heisenberg formula (SCKH) formalism to calculate the non-resonant XES spectrum of water and methanol. The first project is devoted to an investigation of the performance of damped response theory in combination with the DFT electronic structure method (CPP-DFT) in XAS spectrum simulations of liquid water.
