  1. 1. Heterogeneous Photolytic Synthesis of Nanoparticles

    Author : Oscar Alm; Klaus Piglmayer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Chemistry; LCVD; Nanotechnology; Metallocene; Magnetic; Photolysis; OES; tungsten oxide; gas sensing; Kemi;

    Abstract : Nanoparticles of iron, cobalt and tungsten oxide were synthesised by photolytic laser assisted chemical vapour deposition (LCVD). An excimer laser (operating at 193 nm) was used as an excitation source. The LCVD process, was monitored in situ by optical emission spectroscopy (OES). READ MORE

  2. 2. Experiences and evaluation of the modified OES technique as a metallurgical tool for inclusion characterization of bearing steels

  3. 3. A Study of Different Methods for Inclusion Characterization towards On-line use during Steelmaking

    Author : Diana Janis; Pär Jönsson; Lauri Holappa; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; on-line method; PDA OES; electrolytic extraction; inclusions; clusters; nozzle clogging; secondary steelmaking;

    Abstract : The interest of gaining on-line information related to non-metallic inclusions during the steelmaking process has recently increased due to the development as well as the promising results of the Pulse Distribution Analysis with Optical Emission Spectroscopy method (PDA/OES). Even though, the time from sampling to presented results on inclusions is only about 5-10 minutes, the method has also shown limitations with respect to the determination of some inclusion characteristics. 4. 4. Fundamental Studies on Direct Injection Nebulisers for Sample Introduction in ICP Spectrometry : Aerosol Properties, ICP Characteristics and Analytical Performance

    Author : Daniel Goitom Asfaha; Wolfgang Frech; Ralph Edward Sturgeon; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ICP; ICP-MS; ICP-OES; sample introduction; DIHEN; Vulkan DIN; non-spectral interferences; noise power spectra; analytical precision; plasma diagnostic parameters; particle dynamic analysis PDA ; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : The performance of different types of nebulisers: Vulkan direct injection nebuliser (Vulkan DIN), direct injection high efficiency nebuliser (DIHEN), microconcentric nebuliser coupled to cyclonic or double pass spray chamber (MCN-C or MCN-DP, respectively) was investigated and compared when used for sample introduction to ICP-MS or ICP-OES. With ICP-OES, in axial viewing mode, intensity distributions across the radius of the plasma (radial intensity profiles) were determined for different spectral lines with Esum 1. READ MORE

  5. 5. Bone tissue regeneration indento-alveolar surgery : clinical and experimental studies on biomaterials and bone graft substitutes

    Author : Annika Sahlin-Platt; Maria Ransjö; Christer Dahlin; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biomaterials; bone graft substitutes; compomer; root end filling; Bio-Oss; Bioactive glass 45S5; Algipore; SEM EDAX; ICP-OES; Cryo-XPS;

    Abstract : Pathological processes in the alveolar and facial bones can lead to bone loss that may not heal with complete regeneration. Biomaterials can be used to facilitate the healing process and/or as a bone substitute, but the mechanisms are not fully understood. READ MORE
