  1. 11. Nonlinear materials for optical power limiting : characterization and modelling

    Author : Hampus Lundén; Mikael Lindgren; Cesar Lopes; Bernd Eberle; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : High power laser pulses can be a threat to optical sensors, including the human eye. Traditionally this threat has been alleviated by colour filters that block radiation in chosen wavelength ranges. READ MORE

  2. 12. Electro-Optical Na0.5K0.5NbO3 Films

    Author : Mats Blomqvist; Alexander M. Grishin; Prof. Bruce Wessels; KTH; []

  3. 13. Fibre Bragg Gratings : Characterization, Realization and Simulation

    Author : Ingemar Petermann; Ari Friberg; Sten Helmfrid; Morten Ibsen; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bragg gratings; optical fibres; optical fibre components; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : The main topic of this thesis is realization and characterization of fibre Bragg gratings. A novel versatile grating fabrication technique is developed and a number of gratings are realized, showing the potential of the system. READ MORE

  4. 14. Attosecond Optical and Electronic Wave Packets

    Author : Per Johnsson; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; optik; acoustics; optics; Electromagnetism; Ionization Dynamics; Electron Wave Packet Interferometry; Electron Wave Packet Control; Pulse Characterization; High-Order Harmonics; Attosecond Pulse Trains; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Atomic and molecular physics; akustik; Elektromagnetism;

    Abstract : When a low-frequency laser pulse is focused to a high intensity in a gas, the electric field of the laser may become comparable to, or even exceed, the electric field between the electrons and the nucleus in the atom. Under such conditions, through a process known as high-order harmonic generation, bursts of extreme ultraviolet radiation may be emitted, with durations in the attosecond domain (1 as = 10^{-18} s), which is the time-scale of electronic processes. 5. 15. Electronic, Transport, and Optical Properties of Broken-Gap Heterostructures

    Author : Karin Nilsson; Matematisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; relaxation; magnetic resonance; supraconductors; magnetic and optical properties; k.p calculations; Condensed matter:electronic structure; electrical; interband transport; electron-hole hybridization; spin polarization; spectroscopy; spektroskopi; Kondenserade materiens egenskaper:elektronstruktur; egenskaper elektriska; magnetiska och optiska ; supraledare; magnetisk resonans;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the physical properties of broken-gap heterostructures using a multiband k.p model and self-consistent calculations. Broken-gap heterostructures, made from InAs, GaSb, and AlSb, are characterized by a special band alignment with an overlap between the InAs conduction band and the GaSb valence band. READ MORE
