1. ZnO Quantum Dots : Size Dependent Optical, Vibrational and Photoelectrochemical Properties
Abstract : This thesis is devoted to quantum dots of ZnO in the size regime 2.5-10 nm.The focus is directed towards their size dependent properties with specialemphasis on the optical, vibrational and photocatalytic properties. The particleswere synthesized by hydrolysis in alkaline zinc acetate solution. READ MORE

2. Optical spectroscopy of InGaAs quantum dots
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis deals with optical studies of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) in the InGaAs material system. It is shown that for self-assembled InAs QDs, the interaction with the surrounding GaAs barrier and the InAs wetting layer (WL) in particular, has a very large impact on their optical properties. 3. Optical Studies of Single Quantum Dots
Abstract : This thesis presents spectroscopic studies of single self-assembled InP quantum dots (QDs). The electronic properties of these QDs have been studied by photoluminescence (PL) and scanning tunnelling luminescence (STL). The QDs were grown in the Stranski-Krastanow mode and were embedded in GaInP. READ MORE

4. Optical Properties of Single Silicon Quantum Dots
Abstract : For over 60 years silicon (Si) has dominated the semiconductor microelectronics industry mainly due to its abundance and good electrical and material properties. The advanced processing technology of Si has made it the workhorse for photovoltaics industry as well. READ MORE

5. Optical Studies and Applications of Single Quantum Dots
Abstract : The luminescence from single quantum dots has been studied. Single dot photoluminescence was studied under continuous as well as under pulsed excitation. Time-resolved studies revealed fast relaxations in quantum dots. The time resolved measurements were fitted with a set of rate equations. READ MORE
