  1. 11. Small-Scale Production of Fuel-Cell Hydrogen

    Author : Christian Hulteberg; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydrogen; Chemical Engineering; Catalysis; Small-Scale;

    Abstract : The work presented here aims at producing hydrogen for proton-exchange fuel-cell applications from hydrocarbons. This thesis describes an integrated catalytic converter comprising a steam-reforming reactor (heat of reaction supplied by catalytic combustion), a water-gas shift reactor and a preferential oxidation of carbon monoxide reactor, and the work performed on the fuel processing catalysts therein. 2. 12. Improving Design for Remanufacturing Though Feedback from Remanufacturing to Design

    Author : Louise Lindkvist Haziri; Erik Sundin; Tomohiko Sakao; Mats Björkman; Sophie Hallstedt; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Circular Economy; Remanufacturing; Design for remanufacturing; Feedback;

    Abstract : The high demand for products in our society makes manufacturing, and the treatment of products throughout the product life cycle, crucial as it adds to the total environmental impact of a product. Initiatives such as the circular economy promote economic growth while not increasing environmental impacts. READ MORE

  3. 13. Designing auditory warning signals to improve the safety of commercial vehicles

    Author : Johan Fagerlönn; Daniel Västfjäll; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Teknisk psykologi; Engineering Psychology;

    Abstract : Based on four studies, this thesis aims to explore how to design auditory warning signals that can facilitate safer driving by operators of heavy goods vehicles. The first three studies focus on the relationships between certain characteristics of auditory warnings and various indicators of traffic safety. READ MORE

  4. 14. Heterocystous cyanobacteria, Dps proteins and H2 production

    Author : Christoph Howe; Karin Stensjö; Felix Howe; Nir Keren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : H2 production; Cyanobacteria; Dps; ferritin-like proteins; iron; nutrient limitation; oxidative stress; biofilm; photobioreactor; iron homeostasis; H2O2;

    Abstract : To mitigate climate change, CO2-emitting technologies have to be exchanged by renewable alternatives such as H2. H2 can be produced by cyanobacteria, but major efforts to enhance H2 production yields by genetic modifications or optimised cultivation conditions resulted in energetic photo-to-H2 conversion efficiencies of 4. 5. 15. Welding of Heavy Structures Subjected to Fatigue

    Author : Erik Åstrand; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Weld quality; Fillet welds; Weld procedures; Fatigue; Welded applications.; GMAW;

    Abstract : Welding is a key process for heavy steel structures, but it is also a weak link of the structure since fatigue fractures in welds are a common cause for failures. This thesis proposes several changes in order to improve the fatigue properties in a cost effective way. READ MORE
