1. Resource Allocation under Uncertainty : Applications in Mobile Communications
Abstract : This thesis is concerned with scheduling the use of resources, or allocating resources, so as to meet future demands for the entities produced by the resources. We consider applications in mobile communications such as scheduling users' transmissions so that the amount of transmitted information is maximized, and scenarios in the manufacturing industry where the task is to distribute work among production units so as to minimize the number of missed orders. 2. Fair Treatment of Multicast Sessions and Their Receivers : Incentives for more efficient bandwidth utilization
READ MORE

3. Survey models for a vehicle speed survey
Abstract : The impact of some errors, associated with a road traffic survey, is examined. The survey aims at evaluating efforts to reduce the speeds on Swedish roads. It covers both state and urban roads, but we consider only the latter. From these roads, observational sites are selected by a three-stage sampling procedure. READ MORE

4. Optimization of Joint Cell, Channel and Power Allocation in Wireless Communication Networks
Abstract : In this thesis we formulate joint cell, channel and power allocation problems within wireless communication networks. The objectives are to maximize the user with mini- mum data throughput (Shannon capacity) or to maximize the total system throughput, referred to as the max-min and max-sum problem respectively. 5. Resource Allocation for Mobile Edge Computing Systems
Abstract : The rapid development of mobile information industry has led to the emergence of various mobile applications in areas such as industrial automation, health care or transportation. These applications often require heavy computations with strict latency requirement, which may surpass the processing abilities of the mobile devices. READ MORE
