  1. 1. Geometallurgy of a complex ore : Lappberget Zn-Pb-Ag-(Cu-Au) deposit, Garpenberg mine, Sweden

    Author : Glacialle Tiu; Christina Wanhainen; Yousef Ghorbani; Nils Jansson; Jens Gutzmer; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ore Geology; Malmgeologi;

    Abstract : Complex ores, in this instance, a polymetallic base metal ore with additional precious and penalty elements, pose particularly tough challenges for successful production forecasts. Plant performance and recoveries for complex ores are more difficult to predict due to the larger number of variables that must be considered, tracked, and characterized during the multi-stage separation process. 2. 2. The Älgträsk intrusion-related Au (Cu, Zn) deposit, Skellefte district, northern Sweden : Relationships between ore forming events in the Palaeoproterozoic Jörn intrusive complex

    Author : Therese Bejgarn; Hartwig Frimmel; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : Palaeoproterozoic intrusion hosted and intrusion related deposits such as the Älgträsk Au±Cu±Zn, Åkerberg Au, Älgliden Cu–Ni±Au, and the porphyry style Järvträsk Cu±Mo±Zn, Granberg Cu±Mo and Tallberg Cu–Au±Mo deposits are situated in the northern part of the Skellefte District, northern Sweden. These deposits are all hosted within the oldest unit of the Jörn intrusive complex (JIC). READ MORE

  3. 3. Mineralogical, chemical and textural characterisation of the Malmberget iron ore deposit for a geometallurgical model

    Author : Cecilia Lund; Terje Malvik; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The northern Norrbotten ore province is an intensely mineralised area and has traditionally been a very important mining district. It contains Fe, Cu-Au, Au, and Ag deposits ranging from world-class ore deposits to small and uneconomic ones (Martinsson 2004). The most important are the Kiruna and Malmberget iron ores and the Aitik Cu-Au deposit. READ MORE

  4. 4. On the origin and evolution of the palaeoproterozoic Aitik Cu-Au-Ag deposit, northern Sweden : a porphyry copper-gold ore, modified by multistage metamorphic-deformational, magmatic-hydrothermal, and IOCG-mineralizing events

    Author : Christina Wanhainen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The Aitik Cu-Au-Ag mine in the Gällivare area in northern Sweden is the biggest open pit operation in northern Europe and one of Europe’s largest metal producers. The open pit is almost 3 km long, 930 m wide and 345 m deep. Approximately 424 million tonnes of ore averaging 0.4% Cu, 0. READ MORE

  5. 5. Mineralogical, chemical and textural properties of the Malmberget iron deposit : a process mineralogically characterisation

    Author : Cecilia Lund; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : This thesis combine two different but closely connected disciplines in a mining process to each other, ore geology and process mineralogy by studying mineralogical-textural features of the ore and the ore concentrate in an apatite iron ore deposit in Malmberget, Sweden. Apatite iron ore deposits (Kiruna type) exist in a few places around the world and the two most important deposits are mined by LKAB at Kiruna and Malmberget. READ MORE
