21. Skin cancer in relation to tobacco use and organ transplantation
Abstract : Background: Skin cancer incidence in fair-skinned populations has increased more rapidly than any other cancer form during the past several decades. The possible impact of common exposures in the population, such as tobacco use and overweight/obesity, is not established. READ MORE

22. Morphological and Physiological Adaptations in Cichlid Crystalline Lenses
Abstract : Vertebrate eyes share a common ancestry as well as the basic design with a pupil, a retina and a lens. The lens is essential for perceiving the details in the world around us and ensures that a sharp image of the surroundings is focused onto the photoreceptors in the retina. READ MORE

23. Secondary absorbed dose distributions and radiation quality in light ion therapy
Abstract : Radiotherapy with light ions offers the possibility of achieving a dose distribution which is highly conformed to the target volume while sparing normal tissues. For ions heavier than protons, an additional advantage is the increased Relative Biological Effectiveness (RBE) as compared to conventional photon and electron beams. READ MORE

24. Hematolymphoproliferative malignancies : the impact of lifestyle, organ transplantation and genetic susceptibility
Abstract : During the past decades Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) has demonstrated an immense increase in incidence globally, among almost all age and race groups as well as in both genders. In the search for causes, none of the known risk factors can alone or together entirely explain this trend. READ MORE

25. Conventional spiral and low-dose computed mandibular tomography for dental implant planning
Abstract : Absorbed doses to radiosensitive organs in the head and neck from pre-implant conventional hypocycloidal, conventional spiral and computed tomography (CT) were measured with thermoluminescent dosimeters in an anthropomorphic phantom head. From conventional tomography organ doses, except to the major salivary glands, were below 0.2 mGy. READ MORE
