1. Organochlorines and bone : Effects of organochlorines on bone tissue morphology, composition and strength
Abstract : From results presented during the last decade, it is obvious that the skeleton is a targetorgan for a number of persistent organochlorines. So far, however, little attention hasbeen paid to this subject. READ MORE

2. Application of two dimensional compound specific carbon-chlorine isotope analyses for degradation monitoring and assessment of organic pollutants in contaminated soil and groundwater
Abstract : Nearly 250,000 sites with past and present potentially polluting activities need urgent remediation within Europe. Major pollutants include organochlorines (OCls), e.g. chlorinated ethenes (CEs) and hexachlorocyclohexanes (HCHs), mainly used as industrial solvents and pesticides, respectively. READ MORE

3. Epidemiological aspects on hairy cell leukaemia
Abstract : Non Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) has an increasing incidence in many Western countries. In Sweden, about 1800 new cases were reported to the Cancer Registry in 1996 including cases of chronic lymphatic leukaemia (CLL). Hairy cell leukaemia (HCL) is a rare subgroup of malignant lymphoma. About 25 new cases are diagnosed among males in Sweden yearly. READ MORE

4. Developmental neurotoxicity of persistent and non-persistent pollutants : Behavioral and neurochemical assessments of a perfluorinated compound, pesticides and interaction effects
Abstract : The focus of this thesis was to investigate developmental neurotoxic effects of different persistent and non-persistent environmental pollutants, alone or in binary mixtures, when exposure occurs during a critical period of brain development, in mice. The compounds investigated included a perfluorinated compound, perfluorohexane sulphonate (PFHxS), and four different pesticides, endosulfan, cypermethrin, chlorpyrifos and carbaryl. READ MORE
