11. Physical Characterization of Actinide Particles - A Study on Novel Techniques for Radiological and Nuclear Safeguard Investigations
Abstract : This thesis presents a study of advanced analytical techniques, for the characterization of actinide particles originating from the non-peaceful use of nuclear technology and from international inspections of the nuclear fuel cycle associated with non-proliferation agreements. The thesis is based on five papers, which will be referred to by Paper I-V in the text. READ MORE

12. In-Nozzle Flow, Spray and Combustion Investigations of Two-Stroke Marine Diesel Engine Fuel Injectors
Abstract : This thesis focuses on the experimental studies of the cavitating in-nozzle flow of large two-stroke marine Diesel engine fuel injector nozzles and how it affects the spray morphology and combustion behaviour. To further increase the efficiency of large two-stroke marine Diesel engines, a better understanding of the fuel spray atomization process is necessary. READ MORE

13. Mass Spectrometry with Electrospray Ionization from an Adjustable Gap
Abstract : In this thesis the fabrication and analytical evaluation of two new electrospray emitters utilized for mass spectrometry analysis is presented. The emitters are based on a new concept, where the spray orifice can be varied in size. The thesis is based on two papers. All present-day nanoelectrospray emitters have fixed dimensions. READ MORE

15. Acoustic modeling and testing of exhaust and intake system components
Abstract : Intake and exhaust orifice noise contributes to interior and exterior vehicle noise. The order noise radiated from the orifice of the intake and exhaust systems is caused by the pressure pulses generated by the periodic charging and discharging process and propagates to the open ends of the duct systems.
