  1. 1. Regularity of multilinear oscillatory integral operators and nonlinear dispersive partial differential equations

    Author : Aksel Bergfeldt; Wolfgang Staubach; Dorothee Frey; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; oscillatory integral operators; partial differential equations; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : We show regularity of multilinear Schrödinger integral operators as well as multilinear oscillatory integrals with connection to dispersive partial differential equations. These results are used to show regularity of a system of nonlinear dispersive partial differential equations... READ MORE

  2. 2. Regularity Properties of Oscillatory Integral Operators on Function Spaces

    Author : Anders Israelsson; Wolfgang Staubach; Malabika Pramanik; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : We establish regularity results for a variety of oscillatory integral operators, some of which introduced for the first time in this thesis, in general function spaces such as Besov-Lipschitz and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. These estimates yield new local and global regularity results for evolutionary partial differential equations... READ MORE

  3. 3. Steam condensation in a water pool and its effect on thermal stratification and mixing

    Author : Ignacio Gallego-Marcos; Pavel Kudinov; Walter Villanueva; Dominique Bestion; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Steam injection; EHS EMS; blowdown pipes; spargers; chugging; oscillatory bubble; CFD; condensation pool; stratification; mixing; Engineering Mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Abstract : The Pressure Suppression Pool (PSP) of a Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) is a large heat sink designed to limit the containment pressure by condensing steam released from the primary coolant system. The development of thermal stratification is a safety concern since it leads to higher containment pressures than in completely mixed conditions, and can affect the performance of systems such as the emergency core cooling and containment spray, which the use PSP as a source of water. 4. 4. Uncertainty quantification for high frequency waves

    Author : Gabriela Malenova; Olof Runborg; Fabio Nobile; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : We consider high frequency waves satisfying the scalar wave equation with highly oscillatory initial data represented by a short wavelength ε. The speed of propagation of the medium as well as the phase and amplitude of the initial data is assumed to be uncertain, described by a finite number of independent random variables with known probability distributions. 5. 5. Collective Electron Dynamics in Mesoscopic Systems

    Author : Oleksandr Zazunov; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Andreev reflection; Josephson effect; qubit; composite fermions; Andreev levels; resonant tunneling; superconductivity; high-T c superconductors; quantum point contact; fractional quantum Hall effect;

    Abstract : This work is devoted to a theoretical investigation of collective electron dynamics in low dimensional materials and mesoscopic structures. A common feature of these studies is the focus on the properties of the low energy dynamics of conduction electrons. One class of studied materials is the high-Tc superconductor Nd2CuO4 and related compounds. READ MORE
