  1. 1. Reconfigurable Motion Control Systems for Over-Actuated Road Vehicles

    Author : Leo Laine; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; over-actuated; road vehicle; reconfigurable; control allocation; hybrid electric vehicle; motion control system;

    Abstract : Over-actuated systems, such as today's road vehicle configurations, have more motion actuators than controlled motions. For example, a passenger car has a combustion engine and four mechanical brakes, all of which can be used individually to correct any error in yaw rate when the vehicle becomes under- or oversteered. 2. 2. Exploring force allocation control of over actuated vehicles

    Author : Johannes Edrén; Annika Stensson Trigell; Jenny Jerrelind; Lars Drugge; Jonas Fredriksson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : As the concern for environmental changes and diminishing oil resources grows more and more, the trend of new vehicle concepts now includes full electric or partly electric propulsion systems. The introduction of electric power sources enables more advanced motion control systems due to electrification of the vehicle's actuators, such as individual wheel steering and in wheel hub motors. 3. 3. Controlling over-actuated road vehicles during failure conditions

    Author : Daniel Wanner; Annika Stensson Trigell; Lars Drugge; Mats Jonasson; Jochen Rauh; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vehicle dynamics; vehicle safety; driver-vehicle interaction; failure analysis; wheel hub motor failure; over-actuation; fault-tolerant control; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Abstract : The aim of electrification of chassis and driveline systems in road vehicles is to reduce the global emissions and their impact on the environment. The electrification of such systems in vehicles is enabling a whole new set of functionalities improving safety, handling and comfort for the user. READ MORE

  4. 4. Motion modelling and control strategies of over-actuated vehicles

    Author : Johannes Edrén; Annika Stensson Trigell; Jenny Jerrelind; Mats Jonasson; Dongpu Cao; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : With the growing concern for environmental change and uncertain oil resources, the development of new vehicle concepts will in many cases include full or partial electric propulsion. The introduction of more advanced powertrains enables vehicles that can be controlled with a variety of electric actuators, such as wheel hub motors and individual steering. READ MORE

  5. 5. Exploiting individual wheel actuators to enhance vehicle dynamics and safety in electric vehicles

    Author : Mats Jonasson; Annika Stensson Trigell; Tim Gordon; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; autonomous wheel corner; actuators; vehicle dynamics; control allocation; electric vehicles; vehicle modelling; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : This thesis is focused on individual wheel actuators in road vehicles intended for vehicle motion control. Particular attention is paid to electro-mechanical actuators and how they can contribute to improving vehicle dynamics and safety. READ MORE
