    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma; chronic lymphocytic leukemia; TP53 mutation; MDM2 SNP309; codon 72 polymorphism; p16INK4a methylation; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; Haematology; Hematologi; Tumour biology; Tumörbiologi; Clinical Genetics; Klinisk genetik; Medical Genetics; Medicinsk genetik; Molekylär genetik; Molecular Genetics; Oncology; Onkologi; Pathology; Patologi;

    Abstract : The presence of TP53 mutations has been associated with inferior outcome in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). In DLBCL, the impact of the TP53 codon 72 polymorphism and MDM2 SNP309 has not been clearly elucidated, whereas MDM2 SNP309 was suggested as a poor-prognostic marker in CLL. READ MORE

  2. 2. Early Blood Cell Formation "in sickness and health, ´till death do us part"

    Author : Kees-Jan Pronk; Immunologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hematopoietic stem cell; differentiation; regulation; myeloerythropoeisis; myelopoesis; p16INK4A; aging; tumor necrosis factor;

    Abstract : Hematopoietic stem cells (HSC), the ancestors of all blood cells, have the ability to give rise to mature effector cells through a series of developmental steps. This is a tightly regulated, though a highly dynamic process: on the one hand, dysregulation in steady-state could lead to under- or overgrowth of certain blood cell lineages, whereas, on the other hand, demands for certain mature blood cells can change dramatically in cases like bleeding and infections. 3. 3. Cervical dysplasia and cervical cancer in pregnancy: diagnosis and outcome

    Author : Cecilia Kärrberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cervical dysplasia; cervical cancer; pregnancy; colposcopic scoring system; regression; persistence; progression; HPV DNA test; HPV mRNA E6 E7 test; p16INK4a;

    Abstract : ABSTRACT:Cervical cancer is one of the most common types of cancer that is diagnosed during pregnancy. The primary aim in investigation of atypical cervical cytology during pregnancy is to exclude cancer so that further treatment of the lesion can be postponed until after delivery. READ MORE

  4. 4. p16INK4A and p15INK4B in senescence, immortalization and cancer : gene transfer by adenovirus vectors

    Author : Jonas Fuxe; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The astrocytic gliomas are the most common form of brain tumors in humans. The malignant progression from low grade (astrocytoma, grade II) to high-grade (glioblastoma multiforme, grade, IV) astrocytomas is well documented and is accompanied by an increasing number of genetic aberrations. 5. 5. Functional characterization of the alternative reading frame protein p14ARF

    Author : Mikael Lindström; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []

    Abstract : A deeper understanding of the molecular events underlying tumor development is a prerequisite for the design of novel and efficient therapies. Inactivation of the p53 and retinoblastoma (Rb) tumor suppressor pathways appears as a common theme in most malignant human tumors. READ MORE
