6. Refined diagnosis and prognosis in soft tissue sarcoma - genetic profiles, biomarkers and prognostic models
Abstract : This work aimed at evaluate diagnosis and prognosis in soft tissue sarcoma (STS): In study I, 32K bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) arrays and gene expression profiling were applied to 18 leiomyosarcomas and 31 undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcomas (UPS), with the aim of identifying molecular subtype signatures. Both the gains/losses profiles and the gene expression signatures revealed striking similarities between the two tumour types. READ MORE

7. Cancer and Therapy: A look into stemness and the tumour microenvironment
Abstract : Therapy is the often-used treatment for cancer patients, even those that undergo resection surgery. While milestones have been surpassed throughout the decades for a number of cancer types, there are those that comprise of characteristics limiting effectiveness of treatments. READ MORE

8. TRAF6 stimulates TGFβ-induced oncogenic signal transduction in cancer cells
Abstract : Prostate cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in men worldwide, with 10,000 new cases/year diagnosed in Sweden. In this context, there is an urgent need to identify new biomarkers to detect prostate cancer at an initial stage for earlier treatment intervention. READ MORE

9. TRAF6, a key regulator of TGFβ-induced oncogenesis in prostate cancer
Abstract : Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with the incidence rapidly increasing in Europe over the past two decades. Reliable biomarkers for prostate cancer are currently unavailable. Thus, there is an urgent need for improved biomarkers to diagnose prostate cancer at an early stage and to determine the best treatment options. READ MORE

10. Diversification of TGF-β Signaling in Homeostasis and Disease
Abstract : With the dawn of metazoans, the ability of cells to communicate with each other became of paramount importance in maintaining tissue homeostasis. The transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) signaling pathway, which plays important roles during embryogenesis and in the adult organism, signals via a heterodimeric receptor complex consisting of two type II and two type I receptors.
