  1. 1. Tactile Perception - Role of Physical Properties

    Author : Lisa Skedung; Mark Rutland; Katrin Danerlöv; Sören Andersson; Ann Maria Cornell; KTH; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Finger Friction; Skin Friction; Paper Friction; Friction Coefficient; Piezoelectric Force Sensor; Skin Tribology; Biotribology; Soft Tribology; Surface Roughness; Profilometry; Coated Paper; Uncoated Paper; Printing Paper; Magazine Paper; Tactile Perception; Psychophysics; Multidimensional Scaling; Magnitude Estimation; Paper Coarseness; Thermal Conductivity; X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy.; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to interconnect human tactile perception with various physical properties of materials. Tactile perception necessitates contact and relative motion between the skin and the surfaces of interest. READ MORE

  2. 2. Laboratory method for the study of moisture-induced waviness in paper

    Author : Cecilia Land; Göran Ström; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; method; moisture; paper; paper web; wavelength; waviness; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Paper that is subjected to moisture undergoes dimensional changes. It expands during moistening and shrinks during drying. When the paper is under tension between rollers, the effects are complex since shrinkage and expansion are restricted in the width direction. Waves can then appear on the paper web. READ MORE

  3. 3. Design of Cellulose-Based Electrically Conductive Composites: Fundamentals, Modifications, and Scale-up

    Author : Karishma Jain; Lars Wågberg; Per A. Larsson; Davide Beneventi; KTH; []

    Abstract : Modern demand for consumer electronics is fueling the generation of 'E-waste.' Furthermore, theraw materials and manufacturing methods used in the fabrication of electronics are not sustainable. READ MORE

  4. 4. Life Cycle Assessment of Paper Based Printed Circuits

    Author : Qiansu Wan; Li-Rong Zheng; Changqing Liu; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Printed Electronics; Environment; PCB; Life Cycle assessment; Emissions; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Abstract : Printed circuit boards have been massively manufactured and wildly used in all kinds of electronic devices during people’s daily life for more than thirty years since the last century. As a highly integrated device mainly consists of silicon base, an etched copper layer and other soldered components, massive production of printed circuit boards are considered to be environmentally unfriendly due to the wet chemical manufacturing mode and lack of recycling ability. 5. 5. Minimally Invasive Catheter-Based Technologies

    Author : Mikael Sandell; Göran Stemme; Staffan Holmin; Niclas Roxhed; Wouter van der Wijngaart; Stefan Jonsson; Duncan Maitland; KTH; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicinsk teknologi; Medical Technology;

    Abstract : A simple incision procedure in a blood vessel makes the entire vascular system accessible. Through contrast injection and X-ray visualization, the vascular tree can be mapped and navigated through manual manipulation of thin tubes and wires. READ MORE
