26. Development of Protein Microarray Chip Technology: An Outlook towards Proteomics and Diagnostics
Abstract : One attractive method for monitoring biomolecular interactions in a highly parallel fashion is the use of microarrays. Microarrays can be applied for screening proteins which makes it an attractive tool in clinical diagnostics, drug discovery studies and basic protein research; even though many methodological challenges and ones relating to the quality control of microarrays still need to be solved. 27. Porous Silicon Microbioreactors - Applications and Technology
Abstract : Microfluidic systems have become one of the most interesting fields in the research of chemical analysis. Miniaturized systems exhibit numerous practical advantages when compared with traditional batch-scale synthesis such as lower sample volumes, increased control of the reactions and higher sample throughput. 28. Electron Tunneling and Field-Effect Devices in mm-Wave Circuits
Abstract : Short high-frequency electromagnetic pulses, also referred to as wavelets, are considered for use in various short-range impulse based ultra-wideband applications, such as communication, imaging, radar, spectroscopy, and localization. This thesis investigates field-effect and tunneling based semiconductor devices and their operation in millimeter-wave (mm-wave) impulse transceivers. READ MORE

29. Carbon nanomaterial-based interconnects, integrated capacitors and supercapacitors
Abstract : The constant miniaturization and steady performance improvement of electronics devices have generated innovative ideas such as internet of thing (IoT), which also includes devices with integrated energy sources. The high performance is conceived by the high density of the devices on a chip leading to a high density of interconnects, to connect these devices to outside world. READ MORE

30. Studies of Elastomer Matrix Flow Mechanisms in Nonwoven Reinforced Composites
Abstract : The general aim of this work was to develop a suitable technique for fabricating elastomer composites based on three-dimensional fibrous materials and to study the rheological behavior of matrix polymer in these structures with varied structural and fiber surface characteristics. A new type of mold was developed and tested for structural reaction injection molding (SRIM) of elastomer composites having polymer matrices made from a mixture of two components. READ MORE
