21. Hardware/Software Co-Design of Heterogeneous Manycore Architectures
Abstract : In the era of big data, advanced sensing, and artificial intelligence, the required computation power is provided mostly by multicore and manycore architectures. However, the performance demand keeps growing. Thus the computer architectures need to continue evolving and provide higher performance. READ MORE

22. Distributed Stochastic Programming with Applications to Large-Scale Hydropower Operations
Abstract : Stochastic programming is a subfield of mathematical programming concerned with optimization problems subjected to uncertainty. Many engineering problems with random elements can be accurately modeled as a stochastic program. In particular, decision problems associated with hydropower operations motivate the application of stochastic programming. READ MORE

23. Electrothermal Simulation in a Concurrent Waveform Relaxation Based Circuit Simulator
Abstract : The main purpose of this work is to study methods to simulate electro-thermal effects in integrated circuits using CONCISE a waveform relaxation based circuit simulator. WR is a method that is suitable to run on a multi-computer with state of the art computing power. Especially CMOS VLSI circuits have been simulated successfully with WR. READ MORE

24. The Progressive in 19th-Century English : A Process of Integration
Abstract : The present work is a corpus-based study of the English progressive during the 19th century. The study is based on Conce, a one-million-word corpus covering the period 1800–1900 and comprising seven genres, both speech-related and non-speech-related. READ MORE

25. Compiler Generation for Data-Parallel Programming Languages from Two-Level Semantics Specifications
Abstract : This thesis is an empirical study of compiler generation for data-parallel languages from denotational-semantics-based formal specifications. We investigate whether compiler generation from such specifications is practical, not only with respect to generation of practical compilers, but also with respect to compilation of programs into efficient code and execution of the compiled programs on massively parallel SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) architectures.
