  1. 1. A Microwave Tomography Framework for Monitoring of Pharmaceutical Processes

    Author : Livia Cerullo; [2011]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Sensitivity Analysis; Microwave Tomography; Reconstruction Algorithm; Parameterization; Pharmaceutical Processes;

    Abstract : Industrial pharmaceutical processes may be very difficult to monitor and control. Today, an important research fields is non-invasive measurement techniques that provide information about thematerial distribution inside the process. In this thesis, a microwave tomography (MWT) framework for monitoring of pharmaceutical processes is presented. READ MORE

  2. 2. Processes important for forecasting of clouds over snow

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Meteorology, Stockholm University

    Author : Martin Hagman; Gunilla Svensson; Victoria Sinclair; [2020]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Boundary-layer meteorology; WRF; Initialization; Stratocumulus clouds; Parameterization; Stable boundary layer; Single Column Model; meteorologi; Meteorology;

    Abstract : The Swedish Armed Forces setup of the Weather Research and Forecasting Model (WRF) has problems to forecast low clouds in stably stratified conditions when the ground is covered by snow. The aim of this thesis is to understand what causes this deficit. READ MORE

  3. 3. Distribution Patterns and Metapopulation Dynamics of Epiphytic Mosses and Lichens

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Tord Snäll; Uppsala universitet.; [2003]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ecology; plant; metapopulation; model; parameterization; connectivity; dispersal; colonization; extinction; epiphytic; bryophyte; lichen; boreal; fragmentation; Ekologi; NATURAL SCIENCES Biology Terrestrial; freshwater and marine ecology; NATURVETENSKAP Biologi Terrestisk; limnisk och marin ekologi;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the relative importance of local conditions, dispersal and dynamics of the trees on epiphyte distribution patterns and colonization-extinction dynamics. Study species are the mosses Orthotrichum speciosum and O. obtusifolium, and the red-listed Neckera pennata. READ MORE

  4. 4. Peakflow response of stream networks implications of physical descriptions of streams and temporal change

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Anna Åkesson; Anders Wörman; Alberto Viglione; [2015]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Streamflow routing; peakflow predictions; parameterization; hydrological response; stage-dependency; flooded cross-sections; stream networks; backwater effects; temporal change; land use change; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Abstract : Through distributed stream network routing, it has quantitatively been shown that the relationship between flow travel time and discharge varies strongly nonlinearly with stream stage and with catchment-specific properties.Physically derived distributions of water travel times through a stream network were successfully used to parameterise the streamflow response function of a compartmental hydrological model.
