1. A Novel Submarine Design Method - Based on technical, economical and operational factors of influence
Abstract : The thesis work, with the openly published journal and conference papers, is motivated by theambition to interact over time with the scientific community in the development of a novelcoherent submarine design method to regain momentum in Swedish submarine computeraided Simulation Based Design (SBD). The work was initially stimulated by an earlyobservation in our submarine engineering community, that the existing knowledge of navalarchitecture and systems theory including cost prediction and operational analysis was notcoherently utilised for the design of Naval Integrated Complex System (NICS), hence theneed for a coherent approach. 2. State-of-the-art Integrated Refrigeration Systems in Supermarkets : An Energy Efficiency Evaluation Based on Field Measurements Analysis and Computer Simulations
Abstract : Supermarkets have become a vital feature of modern society. However, they have significant impact on the environment due to the large amount of refrigerants needed in the refrigeration system, and due to the large energy use in the supermarket, they are the commercial buildings with highest energy intensity. 3. Constructing and Commissioning HELIOS – A High Harmonic Generation Source for Pump-Probe Measurements with sub 50 fs Temporal Resolution : The Development of Experimental Equipment for Extreme Ultraviolet Spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis presents HELIOS, an in-house laboratory for time-resolved pump-probe spectroscopy with extreme-ultraviolet (XUV) probe radiation. A wide span of pump wavelengths can be generated using commercial laser equipment while XUV probe radiation is generated via a high harmonic generation process in a noble gas delivering probe photons with energies between 20 eV and 72 eV. 4. Behaviour and resistance of composite slabs : experiments and finite element analysis
Abstract : Composite slab flooring systems are used in steel framed buildings as well as in conjunction with concrete, prestressed concrete and timber structures. Composite slabs consist of a thin-walled profiled steel sheet, reinforcement and in-situ cast concrete. READ MORE

5. Knowledge-Based Integrated Aircraft Design : An Applied Approach from Design to Concept Demonstration
Abstract : The design and development of new aircraft are becoming increasingly expensive and timeconsuming. To assist the design process in reducing the development cost, time, and late design changes, the conceptual design needs enhancement using new tools and methods. READ MORE
