6. A parametric grammar of Seediq
Abstract : Seediq is an Austronesian language spoken in Taiwan. It has several characteristics which are typologically unusual but typical for Austronesian languages. VOS word order, subject-focus (i.e. READ MORE

7. Spectral control of lasers and optical parametric oscillators with volume Bragg gratings
READ MORE

8. Machining Monitoring and Control : Based on Parametric Modelling
Abstract : The objective of this work was the development of aMachining Control prototype system for turning, whichintegrates three fundamental aspects of Machining Controltechnology: Monitoring, Control and Optimisation. MachiningControl refers to the detection and automatic handling ofdisturbances in machining processes. READ MORE

9. Optical Parametric Devices in Periodically Poled LiTaO3
Abstract : Optical parametric frequency conversion based on quasi phase matching (QPM) in nonlinear optical crystals is a powerful technique for generating coherent radiation in wavelength ranges spanning from the mid-infrared (mid-IR) to the blue, displaying low thermal load and high efficiency. This thesis shows how QPM in one- (1D) or two-dimensional (2D) lattices can be employed to engineer novel devices for parametric downconversion in the IR, af-fording freedom in designing both spectral and angular properties of the parametric output. 10. Parametric interactions with signals and the vacuum
Abstract : In this thesis I present different experiments on superconducting circuits exploring parametric interactions with external signals and the vacuum in the microwave regime. These parametric processes are the result of the periodic modulation of a property of a system which results in different interactions. READ MORE
