  1. 1. Computer Visualization in Participatory and Cognitive Engineering

    University dissertation from Ergonomics and Aerosol Technology, Department of Design Sciences, Lund University

    Author : Peter Bengtsson; [2000]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Utvecklingspsykologi; Development psychology; Dynamic Decision Making; Operator Process Interfaces; Action Research; Learning; Ergonomics; Engineering; Participatory; Virtual Reality; Animation; Computer; Visualization; Systems engineering; computer technology; Data- och systemvetenskap; Architecture; interior design; Arkitektur; inredningsarkitektur;

    Abstract : This thesis tells the initiation story of a computer visualization methodology and a participatory engineering methodology. The two methodologies are tightly coupled and for the purpose of this thesis, as a unit, named Computer Visualization in Par-ticipatory Engineering (VIPE). READ MORE

  2. 2. Developing a Value Proposition of Maritime Ergonomics

    University dissertation from Ergonomics and Aerosol Technology, Department of Design Sciences, Lund University

    Author : Cecilia Österman; [2012]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; operational performance; socio-technical systems.; Ergonomics; value proposition; maritime economics; human element; shipping; participatory ergonomics;

    Abstract : There is a large body of knowledge available on the importance of ergonomics for successful(and unsuccessful) systems. Domain specific handbooks, guidelines and standards can befound also for the maritime industry. READ MORE

  3. 3. Participatory Ergonomics in Practice: An Evaluation of Three Methods for Supporting End-User Participation in the Development and Choice of Technical Equipment

    University dissertation from Ergonomics and Aerosol Technology, Department of Design Sciences, Lund University

    Author : Karin Garmer; [2002]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; co-education; ergonomics training; participatory ergonomics; development work;

    Abstract : The studies included in this thesis have been carried out in three different organisations: a car assembly plant with a new production system based on group organisation; in a car assembly plant with a traditional assembly line; and, in a traditional hospital organisation. A common problem for the three organisations was that there was insufficient dialogue between the end-users of the technical equipment used in the work place and the 'in-house' engineers working with the development or purchase of this equipment. 4. 4. Interventions for safe and healthy work

    University dissertation from Ergonomics and Aerosol Technology, Department of Design Sciences, Lund University

    Author : Mats Eklöf; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2004]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ergonomics; feedback; fishery; intervention; occupational injury; participatory; psychosocial factors; risk perception; safety attitudes; VDU-work;

    Abstract : The general aim of this thesis was to contribute to the research-based knowledge about associations 1) between individual psychological and social factors, respectively, and activity in safety work; 2) between general characteristics of working-environment change processes, on the one hand, and working environment characteristics, and health-related symptoms, on the other; 3) between working life interventions and activity to modify the working environment, working environment characteristics, and health-related symptoms.Associations between psychological and social factors, respectively, and activity in safety work were explored in a questionnarie study among Swedish fishermen. 5. 5. Distributed Participatory Design in Multidisciplinary Engineering Projects: Investigating a Sustainable Approach for Ship Design & Construction

    University dissertation from Gothenburg : Chalmers tekniska högskola

    Author : Steven Mallam; [2016]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; User-Centred Design; Naval Architecture; Ergonomics; Built Environment; Maritime; Industrial Design; Knowledge Transfer; Technology Acceptance;

    Abstract : Naval architecture design procedures focus primarily on the technical aspects of engineering specifications, mission requirements and overall survivability of ships and marine structures. In contrast, often little attention or importance is placed on the operational demands of onboard crew and the detailed design characteristics of a ship’s work environment. READ MORE
