11. Experimental study of bubble dynamics and transport
Abstract : The thesis concerns experimental studies of bubble motion and the transport of large particles and bubbles. Bubbly flows are encountered in many engineering applications where the bubbles play an important role for the mass transfer between the phases, e.g. in stirred reactors. READ MORE

12. Experimental Study on Truck Related Power Losses: The Churning Losses in a Transmission Model and Active Flow Control at an A-pillar of Generic Truck Cabin Model
Abstract : The fight with global warming constantly forces vehicle manufacturers to innovate, in order to be able to reduce the CO2 emissions of their product. This means that marginal efficiency gains in every component are considered beneficial for total reduction of CO2 emissions. READ MORE

13. Near-Field Study of Multiple Interacting Jets : Confluent Jets
Abstract : This thesis deals with the near-field of confluent jets, which can be of interest in many engineering applications such as design of a ventilation supply device. The physical effect of interaction between multiple closely spaced jets is studied using experimental and numerical methods. READ MORE

14. Experimental study of turbulent flows through pipe bends
Abstract : This thesis deals with turbulent flows in 90 degree curved pipes of circular cross-section. The flow cases investigated experimentally are turbulent flow with and without an additional motion, swirling or pulsating, superposed on the primary flow. READ MORE

15. Spatial Decompositions of a Fully-developed Turbulent Round Jet Sampled with Particle Image Velocimetry
Abstract : Spatial decompositions of the turbulence in a far, axisymmetric jet at exit Reynolds number of 20, 000 have been performed. Equilibrium similaritytheory applied to the two-point Reynolds stresses has shown that the turbulence statistics in the far, fully developed region of an axisymmetric jet should be independent of origin in the streamwise direction when evaluated on the similarity coordinates system.
