  1. 21. Slurry rheology of limestone and its effects on wet ultra-fine grinding

    Author : Mingzhao He; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates rheology of limestone slurries and its effects on wet ultra-fine grinding in order to reduce energy cost and increase the throughput and the product fineness. The influences of solids concentration, molecular weight of a dispersant, particle size and distribution, and temperature on the rheological behaviours of limestone slurries have been investigated with rotational and cone-plate viscometers. 2. 22. Crystallization on the Mesoscale : Self-Assembly of Iron Oxide Nanocubes into Mesocrystals

    Author : Michael Agthe; Lennart Bergström; German Salazar-Alvarez; Tommy Nylander; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Self-assembly; iron oxide nanocubes; mesocrystal; small angle X-ray scattering; video microscopy; QCM-D; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Abstract : Self-assembly of nanoparticles is a promising route to form complex, nanostructured materials with functional properties. Nanoparticle assemblies characterized by a crystallographic alignment of the nanoparticles on the atomic scale, i.e. mesocrystals, are commonly found in nature with outstanding functional and mechanical properties. 3. 23. Film Formation from Dispersions - Preparation and Mechanisms

    Author : Stefan Erkselius; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymerteknik; biopolymers; Polymer technology; decomposition; sodium persulfate; hyrdoxyethyl cellulose; salt; surfactants; drying; stabilization; latex; Film formation; dispersions;

    Abstract : Improved environmental consciousness and harsh legislation concerning volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during the 1980s led to an increase in the development in the field of polymer colloids. Solvent born coatings were replaced by polymer dispersions in aqueous solution, so called latex dispersions. READ MORE

  4. 24. Composite Cryogels: Stationary Phase for Separation of Complex Media

    Author : Solmaz Hajizadeh; Bioteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Composite cryogel; Complex media; Purification; Chromatography; Environmental application; Molecularly imprinted polymer;

    Abstract : Demands for efficient, economical and fast separation and purification methods for various target molecules have led to the development of new techniques and materials for bioseparation processes. Separation can be carried out in both batch and chromatographic modes. READ MORE

  5. 25. Mathematical Model of the Solid Flow Behavior in a Real Dimension Blast Furnace

    Author : Reza Safavi Nick; Pär Jönsson; Lage Jonsson; Anders Tilliander; Dong-Yuan Sheng; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : A mathematical model based on the continuum mechanic concept has been developed to describe the profile of solid particles in an industrial scale blast furnace. The focus is the in-furnace conditions and its characteristics such as the shape and size of the deadman. READ MORE
