1. Investigating the effect of extending powder particle size distribution of Ti-6Al-4V produced by powder bed fusion laser beam process : Influence of process parameters on material integrity
Abstract : This thesis focuses on the topic of PBF-LB applied to titanium alloys. Of allalloys, an α + β is chosen, named Ti-6Al-4V. The selection of this particular alloy is driven by its current widespread use in many industrial applications where high strength coupled with low density are both desirable properties. READ MORE

2. Quantitative studies of changes in microstructure and activity during ageing of supported catalysts
Abstract : Catalytic converters have substantially contributed to the improvement of air quality in populated areas in the last decades by abatement of the emission of hazardous componentssuch as CO, unburned hydrocarbons and NOx. However, due to the exposure to high temperature and different components in the exhaust gas, the performance of the catalysts degrades with time. READ MORE

3. Quantitative Electron Microscopy Studies of Metal Nanoparticle Catalysts: Nanostructure, Support Interaction and Ageing Effects
Abstract : Heterogeneous catalysis plays a major role in modern society, for example in chemical production, sustainable energy production and emission control technologies. Metal nanoparticles (NPs) supported on oxide materials are frequent catalytic systems in this field. READ MORE

4. Synthesis and Properties of Colloidal Zeolite
Abstract : Several zeolite phases, zeolite N-Y, N-A, ZSM-2, (hydroxy)sodalite and TPA-silicalite- 1, have been synthesized in the form of stable suspensions of discrete colloidal crystals wherein the average particle size is less than 150 nanometers and in certain cases, less than 50 nanometers, with a narrow particle size distribution, PSD. Clear homogeneous tetraalkylammonium (alumino)silicate solutions containing controlled amounts of alkali metal cations are hydrothermally treated at 100 °C without stirring and under reflux. 5. Micro-by-micro interactions : Aggregation dynamics, biofilms, and ecotoxicological impacts of suspended solids
Abstract : Increasing concerns arise regarding the environmental risk of microplastics (MP) and their interactions with biota, prompting numerous effect studies. However, current ecotoxicology methods fall short when it comes to assessing MP impacts. READ MORE
