  1. 1. Optimization and Physical Bounds for Passive and Non-passive Systems

    Author : Yevhen Ivanenko; Sven Nordebo; Börje Nilsson; Mats Gustafsson; Mariana Dalarsson; Aaron Welters; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Convex optimization; physical bounds; Herglotz functions; quasi-Herglotz functions; passive systems; non-passive systems; approximation; absorption in lossy media; Waves and Signals; Vågor och signaler;

    Abstract : Physical bounds in electromagnetic field theory have been of interest for more than a decade. Considering electromagnetic structures from the system theory perspective, as systems satisfying linearity, time-invariance, causality and passivity, it is possible to characterize their transfer functions via Herglotz functions. 3. 3. Underactuated mechanical systems : Contributions to trajectory planning, analysis, and control

    Author : Pedro La Hera; Anton Shiriaev; Ambarish Goswami; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Underactuated mechanical systems; mechanical systems with impacts; trajectory planning; periodic trajectories; orbital stabilization; walking robots; virtual holonomic constraints; transverse linearization; Automatic control; Reglerteknik; Automatic Control; reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Nature and its variety of motion forms have inspired new robot designs with inherentunderactuated dynamics. The fundamental characteristic of these controlled mechanicalsystems, called underactuated, is to have the number of actuators less than the number ofdegrees of freedom. READ MORE

  4. 4. Capturing and Analysing Emotions to Support Organisational Learning : The Affect Based Learning Matrix

    Author : Theresia Olsson Neve; Paul Johannesson; Janis Stirna; Marite Kirikova; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Knowledge Management; Organisational Learning; Emotions; Affects; Perspective Change; Knowledge Management Systems; Web-based Knowledge Management Support; Computer and systems science; Data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the importance of managing employees’ thoughts and feelings in relation to organisational learning. To visualise and to identify affections within organisations is of major importance since most of our actions and the decisions we make are steered by our emotions rather than rational thinking. 5. 5. Distributed Peer Discovery in Large-Scale P2P Streaming Systems : Addressing Practical Problems of P2P Deployments on the Open Internet

    Author : Raul Jimenez; Seif Haridi; Björn Knutsson; Arnaud Legout; KTH; []

    Abstract : Peer-to-peer (P2P) techniques allow users with limited resources to distribute content to a potentially large audience by turning passive clients into peers. Peers can self-organize to distribute content to each other, increasing the scalability of the system and decreasing the publisher’s costs, compared to a publisher distributing the data himself using a content delivery network (CDN) or his own servers.
