  1. 1. Orthopaedic measurements with computed radiography. Methodological development, accuracy, and radiation dose with special reference to the weight-bearing lower extremity and the dislocating patella

    Author : Jan Sanfridsson; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Clinical physics; digital.; computer-assisted; Picture Archiving and Communication Systems; computed radiography; radiography; effective dose; radiation dosage; measurements; biomechanics; dislocating patella; musculoskeletal; patellofemoral joint; Knee joint; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a measurement system for computed radiography (CR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), permitting measurements of long distances and angles in and between related images. The developed measurement system, which was based on the QUESTOR Precision Radiography (QPR) system, was applied to the weight-bearing knee with special reference to the dislocating patella. 2. 2. Measurements of knee rotation in vivo - Development and evaluation of an external device

    Author : Per Otto Almquist; Människan i rörelse: hälsa och rehabilitering; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Knee; rotation; measurement; evaluation; gender; age; dislocating patella;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this work was to evaluate a newly developed measurement device, the Rottometer, for measuring knee rotation in different flexion angles with different applied torques, in order to establish the normal range of healthy knee rotation reference values and to study possible differences due to age and gender, as well as possible differences between patients with habitual dislocating patella (HDP) and healthy controls. The validity of the Rottometer was evaluated by simultaneous registrations with roentgen stereometric analysis (RSA) (paper I). READ MORE

  3. 3. Pain, Function, and Dissatisfaction after Total knee Arthroplasty

    Author : ABDULEMIR MUHAMMED NURI ALI; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TKA; dissatisfaction; continuous intraarticular analgesia; patella; anxiety depression; pain; function;

    Abstract : Osteoarthritis (OA) is a progressive degenerative joint disorder, and the prevalence increases with age. In Sweden, about one in 4 people over the age of 45 years has OA in at least one joint. As the population ages and the prevalence of obesity increases, OA is expected to increase even more. 4. 4. Knee replacement revision: an international comparison

    Author : Peter Lewis; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : AbstractBackground and purpose: The need for knee replacement revision arises from a combination of patient, prosthesis and surgeon factors. Registry data can help study these relationships. Pooling data from multiple registries may increase both reliability and generalizability. READ MORE

  5. 5. Sensory nerve fibres, neuropeptides and cartilage : Experimental studies in the rat

    Author : Karin Edoff; Anders Bjurholm; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : During development, maintenance and repair after injury, reciprocal interactions occur between the peripheral nervous system and the target tissues. In the Papers presented in this thesis, different aspects of such netvetarget influences between peripheral nerve fibres and skeletal tissues dtuing development and repair have been investigated in the rat.
